"Omen of Durace"
[THEME]
THE BLOODHOUND
WIELDER OF THE PROMISE
HEATHEN SAINT OF ROGUES AND OUTLAWS
GREAT KHAN OF THE MAWSWORN TRIBES
From the Ark, From the Mawsworn Tribes,
I send the warmest of greetings.
For your - ah - opulent caste, I can easily understand that this visage is not one that you trust all that much, and for the lowly sorts who flock to the banner of the Maw, this truth could increase that distrust to a threefold extreme. But I must admit a certain truth of my own before I can properly proceed, and though it might needlessly confuse the recipients of this message, it stands to reason that one with my surname was once a noble, opulent entity in my own right. As you'll likely know more than I, an' perhaps more-acutely, that the name,"Barran", is one that still carries weight, even now. Thus the Great Khan is not so far beneath you that you can cast mine ilk aside that easily.
Not for as long as soldiers gravitate easily to the name I bear, for all would seek favour in the Heart of the Crucible.
But rest assured, for you would be fortunate in the wake of that eventual, begrudging leap, and in the Ren's assurance of alliance made for the sake of Mawsworn and Imperial in turn, it becomes a matter of strategic necessity henceforth. Simpler, transactional matters have been easy on my end for a while now, an' I have many with which I can accommodate the newfound friends we make along the way, but the real difficulty lies in collective warfighting cohesion; lucky then that you are doubly-blessed in this matter, for it is not just the chance encounters you can rely upon amongst your ilk, but also upon those with the Maw that could yet meet with even-greater success.
This I have already put forth to the common, soldiering caste, but now, this notion is laid at the feet of higher-powers in the hope my allies can offer the Khanate aid in the same fashion. Adding much and more to successes of the aforementioned transactional matters, and with it, a guarantee of mutual trust where it matters, in the fires off strife and conflict. Yet as wild as this concept could be for the distrustful, I sincerely believe we can rely on each other, as our enemies do on their own allies; for if there must be collaboration, then assuring cohesion in combat, together, will also diminish your leaders' need for involvement in such bloody affairs.
After all, if all you needed was a simple thumb-print swipe, just one signature to keep unsavory, common elements at arm's length, would you not get it all out of the way for everyone's sake?
Although the wars we're faced with are doubtlessly proving costly already, I understand that more than enough of your sort have fortunately still expressed (and even endeavoured) interest in the way this war is going, the happenings therein. Bringing me to lobby a proposal for your eyes only, one such that was drafted by one of my Darkhans, feast yer eyes-
THE ZEALOT
CHAMPION SWORDSMAN OF THE GREAT KHAN
MAWSWORN LEGATE
HIGH-DARKHAN OF THE TRILUNAR CLIQUE
To whomever this request concerns,
Greetings from the Ark, as she embarks on her return to the Deep Core territories.
I bring before you a humble request, but along with it, an offer.
Firstly, my request is that the armies on the ground think more on communicating with each other, especially with those who share the frontline with you. For all that we must endure, for every wound, injury and trauma, we must not waste future opportunities, as our enemies have before us. After all, it is one thing committing your all to a bloody, costly glory, another entirely to maintain such journeys without losing the vital experience of those we send to endure such battlefronts.
The Sith, the New-Imperials, even the Galactic Alliance, all of whom were left with threadbare, poorly-manned husks of the armies they started with - left with nought but decimated frontiers, fortresses emptied of their garrisons.
And all with two decades left to spare in the Ninth Century.
Even the Maw have suffered this way, and for what?
For what reason have we so willingly denied ourselves a chance to adapt, to evolve?
Help your allies in the field, and perhaps, just maybe there's a chance to make long-term diplomatic headway within the Carlaci Imperial movement, and if you so choose to reconcile with your tentatively-loose allies, you can guarantee the Maw will adopt this habit in turn. The Rogues Brigade will smash through anything you line up for us, and in that same vein, the other Brigades in the Legion of Maw will serve in any way we can. We might be criminals, rogues, outlaws and raiders, but you must know by now that we have been organising well in recent years, and if you can find it in your heart to accept your allies as peers in combat, I know my people can find it in our own to keep the Imperial realms safe from invaders.
A promise of which aids in my segue to the next article for Imperial appraisal.
Secondly, the offer I intend to make has been, by the time of sending, approved by my Great Khan, though we both admit such an offer will appear brazen without context.
We know the Empire's opulent elements either intend to mine or already do mine the Deep Core territories, those for which we all fought and lost many in the attempt to wrest them from the Jedi, and though we know the Maw would never gain mining-rights to that which is owned already, the Trilunar Clique in particular feel the need to stress that we wish not to impune nor compete in that corner of the market. Not with the sheer multitude of raw materials lying around where none think to scavenge, the old battlefields of yesteryear.
Yes, the ordnance graveyards we leave behind in the wake of our destructive fights for dominance, places where the rich won't mind our presence on these coveted planetary surfaces.
The Maw seeks not the raw materials, minerals and the like, for we have our own sources for this which are sourced from elsewhere, meagre though the supply is. We seek only to scavenge the empty husks of the wrecked ordnance, to make ramshackle purpose of yesteryear's wars, and with that, we only require permission and schematics to the wonders we find in the mud. For lesser wonders of which we've found before, my ilk have fought doggedly - thus we can protect all that our allies find to be valuable in the Empire's Deep Core territories.
If your allied sorts would add or temper elements of my request, it would bring my clique great relief to discuss it at length, whether by unprompted or appointed visit.
With humble regards,
Sealed-
THE ZEALOT
We could perceive the very pace of opposition advancement, the rate of technological evolution on which our enemies rely, that very shock-factor it presents as our answer to a,"Galactic-Level Threat". Compelling me to put forth my official mark of support for the swordsman's requests, for I must admit my revelation from the enclosed, approved message above, as there isn't a single, fleeting doubt in my mind that our ramshackle alliance must become stronger under that Imperial banner. A matter of which, as some may know already, is becoming an increasingly-drastic affair, seen in the prudently-implemented mining operations my Marauders have observed already, as perhaps this is a sign that you're pooling resources for a grander, greater war on the horizon.
You all see something brewing on the horizon, in your own way....
Don't turn away from that feeling, I suggest that you all lean into it instead.
Bringing me to expand on my urge to trust your allies in the field, as with that renewed trust comes a willingness to commit grander extremes of living resources, and perhaps, in the right levels of cooperation between collaborating allied factions, we may yet find ways to assure the requirements for metals and minerals are met all the sooner. Trusting in your allies, trusting in your armies, and all the while we could be finding cheaper, quicker solutions to the problems that beset your hard-fought gains. So I would put forth a grand and brazen request to join that of humbler intent, one such that I already hinted toward, and as solution for the rising tide of well-equipped, well-armoured foes, I suggest that grander, devoted numbers are mobilised for our wars on the Galaxy.
If we'll need it now, we'll definitely need it when the wars intensify to yesteryear's extreme.
THE MAW WOULD ANNOUNCE A NEW LEGION TO AID YOUR CONTINGENTS IN BATTLE, BUT I, AS BLOODHOUND KHAN, WOULD HOLD SIGNET TO A CHALLENGE FOR THE EMPIRE TO ANNOUNCE NEW LEGIONS OF THEIR OWN!!!!
SENDING OUT MY CHALLENGE TO ALL WHO WOULD STAND WITH THE EMPIRE!!!!
Brazen, I know, but sometimes, on the most obscure of occasions, sometimes,"Brazen", is exactly what the soul needs to galvanise itself. Better a chancer's honesty than a snake's enablement, and I think it is clear to all by now that I hold no intention of buttering up my allies, for my allies know how to learn from the hubris of others, thus the undefeated monster of prudence prevails again. Sometimes one needs a little goading to go above and beyond one's self, and thats exactly what I set up recording-equipment to do, and thats exactly what I had set out to do when I aired my formation of the Mawsworn Legion on the Holonet - as it was goading that clouded eyes would always need in such foreboding, prophetic times.
Judge me not, my friends in the Crucible of War, judge me not, my Imperial friends. Not yet, as I think you also get the distinct feeling you'll be thanking me for my challenge before long, as you an' I cannot turn away from the intensifying heat of total Galactic war, we're past the point of no-return now.
FORGE CONTINGENTS YOU KNOW WILL LAST THROUGHOUT THIS NEXT, NEW ERA!!!!
FORGE THE STRONGEST LEGIONS THIS GALAXY WILL EVER KNOW!!!!
AND SEND ME YOUR GENERALS, FOR I NEED MINDS TO CHALLENGE MINE OWN!!!!
THE GALAXY BURNS ONCE MORE....
ENGULFED IN THE FIRES OF THE DEEPEST ENMITIES,
BUT YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
NOT WITH MARAUDERS THERE TO AID YOU!
THE FIGHT IS ALL WE NEED!
