Kallous had poured over the star charts of known space. Even those charts that described places within the unknown regions. Searching in a near panic for any planet that would suit his purposes.
Still clenched in his left hand was his Master’s lightsaber, freshly taken from the man in their duel. He hardly noticed that he still had it. The weapon was his now, though that was hardly the first thing on his mind. Right now he just needed to get out of the system.
Standing at the Navi computer of the starship he’d commandeered, he looked over the database. Searching, searching for something he could maybe use. A planet beyond the reach of the Sith, and isolated enough that he could be left alone while he figured this out.
His chest still burned with fury, and his mind still reeled with confusion. Why had he let them go? Why hadn’t he just killed them? It would have been so much simpler! But they were defenseless, no threat to him. It would have been a waste.
Right?
Shaking his head clear as best he could he selected the first world he saw that suited his purpose, engaged the navicomputer and waited for the calculations to be complete before he engaged the hyperdrive. Making the jump to hyperspace and setting him on his way to the planet Veridia. Some independent backwater system, with decent connections to the force according to the ship’s database. Which is exactly what he needed at that moment.
The planet would come into view a few hours later, and he would bring his ship in to land somewhere apart from the general populace. He had no desire to be bothered at the moment. Though that might not be up to him, as reports of a Sith ship would reach the ears of those he least wanted them to reach.
