  • | Model | TS 'Hound' Tactical Assault Droid
  • | Modularity |
    • | Command Variant | The Command Variant is a Hound unit that serves as the 'squad leader' relaying all battle data that the Hound units in its pack receive. This alleviates the need for all units to have extensive internalized communication suites in order to constantly relay battlefield data to each other. Command Variant Hounds can be recognized as having a large pack on their back to accommodate for greater communication suites as well as an extended antenna on the side of their head. Command units are equipped with personal shields to bolster their defenses, further highlighting their importance.
    • | Versatility | Hounds can be modified and adapted to any battlefield outside of oceanic environments; whether it's forests, deserts, space, etc.

STANDARD FEATURES

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Hunting Packs
  • Heuristic Learning
  • 'Immortal' Protocol [ Refer to Second Strength ]

STRENGTHS
  • | Hunting Pack | Hound Droids operate in small squads of approximately seven to eight units with a command unit to serve as the relay. They can see what another unit within its Pack can see, giving them extended awareness of the battlefield, essentially using one another as relays with their small arm's fire locators to triangulate and pinpoint enemy positons before converging on them. They learn and adapt to the battlefield rather than following fresh out the factory procedures, determining how best to follow orders in the most effective and efficient way possible.
  • | Only Lost the Main Camera | Much like the IG series Magnaguard, Hound units do not have their core processing units stored in their heads, rather it is hidden within their chassis in a particularly reinforced section. This allows the Hound to continue functioning even when it has its head blown or cut off in battle, and continue to act until it suffers either damage to the reinforced portion of its chassis or suffers catastrophic damage to its body hence why it appears that they never seem to go down. The loss of its head only serves to cut the unit's ability to relay whatever it sees back to the rest of its pack and even then it can utilize its built-in sensors as well as data fed from other Hounds to be aware of its surroundings.
  • | Heuristic Learning | Hounds learn and evolve on the battlefield, reacting and learning the small tactics their enemies might employ and relaying it back to a centralized command structure that one might establish at a forward operating base. The longer an engagement lasts, the more effective and dangerous Hound units become.
WEAKNESSES
  • | Go for the Head | Due to the nature of Hounds constantly being in communication with one another, targeting the Command Variant Hound in each pack can result in disruption between the individual pack members. With the loss of the Command Variant in the Pack, the Hounds of that particular Pack will be unable to relay what they see to each other. This, in essence, would turn them into simple battle droids.
  • | Factory Reset | The learning nature of Hounds result in them requiring to be 'reset' after every engagement to clear up their memory banks. While they do become more effective as a battle goes on, there comes a point where they suffer data overloads from too much information being processed at once.

DESCRIPTION
The Tactical Series 'Hound' Tactical Assault Droid is produced by a subsidiary of ApexTech Industries, Machina Labs as a means of introducing a powerful and versatile droid soldier for the battlefield. Hounds were designed to operate in squads, relaying tactical battlefield intel to one another and communicating with other Hound squads. Their superiority over other droids lay in their ability to relay combat data that they receive to each other, giving each Hound in every squad an unprecedented amount of tactical awareness. Small arms locators identify positions shot from, relaying it to other Hounds in their squads to close in and execute hostiles. Even with the loss of their heads, assuming that the Command Unit remains, each Hound is able to function just as effectively due to their droid brains being encased in a reinforced casing buried deep within their chassis, making them similar in function to that of ancient Magnaguards.
Hounds evolve and adapt to the battlefield; they think just as critically and strategically as any organic unit that they remain in an extended engagement in, learning their enemy's tactics and strategies and updating a central system to provide such information to those commanding from the theater of war. Hounds are versatile and vicious, able to handle and operate any firearm, vehicle, ship etc. that an organic can handle. They are able to carry more weight than an average person, being able to still move swiftly across the battlefield while also handling unwieldly weapons with greater stability. Their aim is laser accurate and their mobility on the field to be both respected and feared.
Additional features such as magnogrip soles allow for Hounds to operate in space and on large space-faring craft when equipped with jetpacks. Crushguant technology integrated into their hands also make them fearsome hand to hand combatants. They are able to see in a complete circle around them, as well as in several different vision modes, making it hard to escape their gaze and pursuit.

What is the status of this submission? As per the rules of pre-factory, which can be found here, each submission may only be in the pre-factory for a month, a period of time which you have exceeded.

Please let me know if you intend to complete this submission, or if you would prefer I move it to the archives, from where you can have the submission pulled at a later date.

I hope I never run into these droids. We do have one distinct problem however.

NECESSARY CHANGES

Can you elaborate what you are talking about? Finding words on the IG-100 page does not help me one bit on what this is referring to. If you explain the Special Feature as well from that link, that is fine, I just need to know what this "Immortal Protocol" means.

Do that and I will push it right on through for approval!

"Immortal" is just what I refer to the system as; it essentially just means that it can function without the need of its head or limbs like a Magnaguard can, hence why it is linked to the Magnaguard Wookiepedia page and is primarily associated to the second strength listed. Basically, until it suffers catastrophic damage to its torso (where a majority of the systems that keep the droid functioning are protected in), it will still be able to continue its function.
