- Affiliation: Darth Ophidia (Personal)
- Modularity: No.
- Production: Unique
- Material: Brass, alchemised terentatek leather.
- Holds various small items.
- Terentatek leather: Prevents force-retrieval from pockets.
- Alchemy: Super-durable.
- Alchemy: Surpresses force-aura of items held within or attached to belt.
- Pockets: Utility belts, being in their nature a very handy tool, is a nice way of storing small items in pockets or clipping lightsabres. No more handbags! Not only does it have pouches and rings on the outside, it has additional, concealed pockets on the inside of the belt, for those secret little trinkets.
- Sith Alchemy: Sith Alchemy warps reality to improve upon the use of items. This utility belt has been treated with alchemy to not only increase its durability, making it near-impossible to rip apart, but also hide the presence of force-imbued items on the wearer's person.
- Terentatek Leather: Through tanning and a little bit of Sith Alchemy, the leather made from a Terentatek's hide hinders use of the Force. The belt does little to hinder the Force from being used on or by the wearer, but it does stop anyone from telekinetically retrieving items from the pockets.
Strengths:
- Handy: Provides storage space for weapons and small items, including hidden pockets on the inside of belt. This makes it easy to hide, store, and retrieve items from one's person.
- Terentatek Leather: Items stored within the pockets may not be affected by the Force.
- Sith Alchemy: Treated with Sith Alchemy for the following effects:
Durability: Extremely difficult to tear apart, near impervious to normal wear and tear. - Conceal Items: Obscures the presence of force-imbued items on the wearer's person.
Weaknesses:
- Manual Retrieval: The terentatek-effect also applies to the wearer. If you want something from the pockets, you need to retrieve it manually and once it is out, it is free for all.
- Restricted Effect: Items clipped to it (such as a lightsabre clipped to the side-ring), are not protected by the leather's anti-force effect.
- Darkspawned: The Sith alchemy imbued in this item makes it weak to direct blasts of Force Light, which will destroy the enchantments.
Pockets are annoying; they are uncomfortable and storing items in them may break the lines of your outfit. Belts, however, are just great. Being of a practical sort, Darth Ophidia has long been wearing various types of utility belt. When she found the time to make one of her own, she did not just settle for making a durable version that fit her aesthetics, but took the chance to create an item that would help suppress the force-aura of dark artefacts she may be carrying. After all, stealth is of the essence to the practical assassin.
Ophidia is no stranger to terentateks. They were heavily featured in the training she received from her master, as well as the lessons she has given others since her ascent through the ranks of the Sith. By infusing an alchemical element to the tanning process, she was able to retain the force-negating properties of the hide, effectively making the pockets "force-secure". However, she was not able to extend the trait to items attached to the outside of the belt.
In order to create the aura-suppressing and durability effects, Ophidia engraved Sith runes in the belt. While time-consuming, it ensured that the effect would take place and not be easily damaged. The runes she used represented "to hide" or "to make blind" and one for "endure" coupled with the master-rune that binds and secures the power. She repeated this sequence throughout the inside of the belt and along the edge of the outside, as well as carving it into the buckle. It was time-consuming and meticulous work, but ultimately worth every effort.
Last, but not least, she consolidated the power of her new creation with a period of fasting and chanting to make sure the powers attached themselves to the belt indefinitely.
