Labelled as one of the flagship products of the new SmartBlaster™ technology, the TSF-SBR/01 Equalizer Rifle would become one of the most deadly personal weapons available for sale through the Black Market. As many Interstellar Nations haven’t banned the use of personal magnetic acceleration weapons, the Thyrsian Artisans of the TwiSuns Forgeworks sought to capitalize on this legalized loophole. For who knew how long this oversight would remain in the shadows, especially with the sudden increase in production of Personal magnetic Acceleration weaponry. Thus, the Gunslinger Pistol sprang forth from their newfound initiative and swiftly began to populate the Black Market.
The SmartBlaster™ Rifle operated in a vaguely familiar capacity to the Verpine Shattergun but had several fundamental differences in how it actually worked. While the Verpine variant was nothing more than a Railgun turned into a Handcannon, the Equalizer was a miniaturized Electrothermal Mass-driver. Due to the SmartBlaster™ Projectile having a Magno-Plasmatic sheathe, the Electrothermal properties of the Mass-driver would utilize a similar catalytic conversion to the creation of Blast Bolts to act as the Primary method of Mass Acceleration. Scant nano-seconds after the catalytic conversion occurs, magnetic solenoids integrated into the barrel would activate, which in turn would propel the SmartBlaster™ at incredible speeds over a relatively long distance.
The SmartBlaster™ technology would take over and either act as a dumb-fired projectile - if no target-lock was achieved before the trigger being pulled - or track down its target with near-sentient precision.
As one can imagine, through the technologies mentioned above, there was a considerable recoil that the Rifle generated. So much so that the first iteration of the Prototype shattered a Test Subject’s shoulder when the weapon was fired. It would’ve been pointless to continue onwards from there without addressing such a glaring issue, as no-one would purchase the weapon. Simply put, it would’ve been a wasted effort that would’ve cost the Forgeworks a countless sum of credits. Thus, the Thyrsian Artisans saw fit to integrate several compensators into the weapon’s build. Sure, the gun would be considerably more substantial than other Small Arms of its size, but none could deny its destructive potential.
With the capabilities of launching self-propelled projectiles into battle, whomsoever wielded the Equalizer would likely find themselves Victorious against whatever strife they found themselves in.
