To say that Thyrsus was a world inimical to life, would be an understatement. The world was bathed in the light of a Binary Star cluster, which baked the surface of Thyrsus into a sprawling and all-consuming desert. The fauna and even the flora that populated the system’s surface were hostile to one another. While the world wasn’t the progenitor of the Darwinist concept of survival of the fittest, Thyrsus embodied such values to its very core. Thus, for sapient life to not only endure atop the twice-scorched sands but to flourish as well? They needed to adapt or suffer the uncaring nature of a world they called home. It was said that the First Thyrsians survived by cloaking themselves in the very sands that sought their demise. They became, in many ways, one with the deserts of their homeland. Although the facts behind such tales were lost to the ever-shifting sands of time, as the Thyrsians “prospered” amongst the dunes of Thyrsus - one could imagine that there was a bit of truth in legends.
Needless to say, the collective Thyrsian constitution was greater than those who didn’t live in such hardships. However, as time permitted and technology advanced, the Scions of Thyrsus began divining the truth behind their shared legacies. Those genetically tortured, and altered Humans who colonized the wasteland of Thyrsus utilized relics that were stolen from another culture - the very one that tore their genes apart in the pursuit of science. Arkanian Environment Suits. When compared to the technologies of the time, especially since Humans still utilized Sleeper Ships to traverse the stars, those suits were advanced beyond compare. As one could imagine, however, those suits weren’t properly-suited to support Non-Arkanian life. That unfortunate outcome led these Proto-Thyrsians towards adapting the suits to fit their requirements - allowing them to not only use the procured suits but replicate them going forward.
That knowledge was passed down throughout the ages, and was either enhanced through the collective progression of the Thyrsian people or lost during their periods of technological regression and enslavement.
