OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Group Name: Tsis'kal Lorekeeper Union
  • Affiliation: Darth Ophidia, Tsis'kal, Sith Order
  • Classification: Researchers/Archivists
  • Description: The Lorekeepers prefer information as their weapon. They gather tales and texts about the mysteries of the Force and those who wield it, but also information about the galaxy at large and the goings on of criminals and emperors alike. They may appear studious, even harmless, but these keepers of the books pose a danger few ever see coming. Among them are spies, alchemists, and sorcerers.
UNIT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small
  • Unit Availability: Uncommon
  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Equipment:
  • Specialization Function: The Lorekeepers specialize in information from all walks of life and from every dark corner of the galaxy. Whether it be ancient temples, fancy ballroom floors, or fortified command centers, the Lorekeepers infiltrate and gather all the knowledge that they can. They are adept at espionage and infiltration, able to slip into whatever locations their master deems worthy of taking from. With dangerous information in hand they are also often good at hiding and cloaking themselves and their repositories of knowledge, they are thoughtful scholars as well as spies.
  • Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): Sith Alchemy, Force Lightning, Telekinesis
Strengths:
  • Keepers of Lost Lore: Their duties in the recovery and archival of information and artifacts, particularly of the Sith kind, means that they have access to often rare or illusive techniques that their opponents may lack. The Force Users amongst the Lorekeepers, the sorcerers in particular, are very dangerous as a result.
  • Masters of Deception: Many of the Lorekeepers are skilled spies and infiltrators in their own right, having posed as common servants of fellow Sith before the Tsis'kal were revealed to the galaxy. By their nature the Lorekeepers are deceptive and secretive, often faking their own deaths just to throw someone off of their trail or to keep valuable information and relics out of enemy hands.
Weaknesses:
  • A Scarce Few: Although far from irreplaceable the numbers of the Lorekeepers are kept small not by a lack of needed skill or potential recruits but rather by the trust and delicate operations necessary to the organization. They are expected to be clandestine and loyal above all else, those are the main limiters for their numbers.
  • Far From the Front: While not entirely defenseless or untrained in matters of combat, the Lorekeepers are not meant to operate in combat situations and as such are often ill-equipped for direct confrontation. They are spies and scholars, not soldiers. Infiltration and extraction as well as archival are where they succeed.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Years of hunting relics and artifacts, of planting informants in key locations, of safeguarding valuable knowledge as wars ravaged the galaxy, these were the beginnings of the Lorekeepers of the Tsis'kal. The oldest ranks of the Lorekeepers come from the days of the Sith Empire, many of them hailing from the Sith-Imperial Historic Conservation Society and the Kissai Priesthood that entered into the service of Darth Ophidia in one way or another.

While they initially served as normal in their roles, the fall of the Sith Empire and subsequent expansion of the Sith's enemies threw these organizations into disarray and dissolution. Those loyal to Ophidia eventually came together in small groups, relying on one another as well as the expansive spy network of their master to survive and keep up their mission of recovering and safeguarding the legacy of the Sith. As the Sith reconvened on Odavessa and declared the Sith Order, these groups would infiltrate and work together with the order, thus expanding their reach and allowing access to resources with which to continue their services.

However, following the events of the Sith Order's battle in the Askaj System, the Tsis'kal was formalized and revealed to the wider Sith Order and as such the Lorekeeper Union was formally organized into a proper organization. Spies and archaeologists, researchers and alchemists, sorcerers and infiltrators, Sith of all kinds pledged their allegiances to the Tsis'kal and were grouped into carefully trained and selected sects, entrusted with different tasks and knowledge to archive and store.

The Lorekeepers' two most notable sects would be those under the leadership of one of Ophidia's apprentices, Knight Alisteri Haxim, and another headed and supported by the Arcane Tribune of the Null Legion Lord Kalzok. The sects are each tasked with various duties in various locations but all hold true to the same goal. To keep the legacy of the Sith safe and alive, to watch over friend and foe alike, to be the shadow of the Sith and the downfall of its enemies, this is their creed.
