The ‘Thesus’ Hemiolia was the first generation of Thyrsian Capital Ships to be produced in the aftermath of the Almera Accords; an act that saw their desert homeworld stripped of all of its military might. As their work with the Sith Empire saw them reaping the rewards from every world that was brought into the fold, the Hierarchs of the Golden Company saw fit to flesh out their burgeoning naval power - so that they would find themselves with increased returns with their paymasters. To this end, the ‘Thesus’ was born, as the entire starship was built around spearing through an enemy’s planetary blockade and rapidly deploying its assault division(s) behind hostile lines.
These characteristics were perfectly aligned with the Thyrsian’s cultural ideologies of warfare - as they believed in hitting hard and striking fast in order to take down their enemies; whoever they may be.
As a Hemiolia, the ‘Thesus’ was specifically designed to operate with and act with speed as its central focal point. Its engines were considerably larger than the standard Corvette’s and found themselves directly connected to both the primary and secondary power plants - that were directly linked to both the primary and secondary power plants. With more energy and fuel sent from the reactor towards both engine sections, resulting in a sustained boost in zero-gravity acceleration - as well as atmospheric flight. However, with the engines being the focal point of the entire design, the Hemiolia suffered from a structural weakness that bonded the two engine blocks together.
While the command and reactor module were essentially protected by the larger, armoured husks of the engine blocks - the entire section was vulnerable to targeted capital-ship weaponry and skilled starfighter pilots. Should the shields fail this speedy vessel, those aboard would be consigned to a fate of their own design - and become one with the silent stars thereafter.
Yet, it was the hope of every Captain who took the Helm of the ‘Thesus’ that they could defy the ever-shifting strands of destiny.
