The Turmae class is designed to be cheaply produced and deployed in all areas of the Mantellian Commonwealth. It allows an improved surveillance and reconnaissance, especially useful in countering smuggling, pirating and for warfare. Build on a cheap platform, the probes are equipped with a minor engine and no defence systems. They require some form of carrier to be properly deployed in systems, otherwise they need ages to reach them. More like satellites, these probes are meant to be deployed in vast numbers to provide information. Their HoloNet connection allows a swift and simple transmission. Equipped with technology to capture voice transmission, com or holo, the probe are perfect for scouting and overwatch duties.
