Turn a Blind Eye (open)

Valx Raizod

Valx sat on the taxi going to a street near a diner he'd heard about from some other padawans at the temple. He'd had a lot of time to think about life--more importantly his life--and what he was going to do. He fully intended to stay with the Jedi Order, and hopefully become a Master. But he also was conflicted. Valx desired to have a family as well, but the Order would not let him. He felt the taxi come to a stop and the doors slid open.

"Thank you for riding with us," The pilot droid said, "come again, sir."

Valx walked out and into the bright sunlight, not that it mattered, for he couldn't see it anyway. He carefully navigated the sidewalk, taking care to not bump into people. Naturally, he felt watched, people staring at his blank expression, and dull, white eyes. He had to stop and ask for directions because he felt lost.

"Uh...sir can you tell me where the Moonlit Diner is," Valx asked a man sitting on a bench, "I am blind."

"It's just around the corner, to your left," The man replied.

"Thank you.''

Valx kept plodding forward, eventually coming into the diner, sitting down and waiting, staring blankly at whatever was in front of him. With everyone around him, he still felt alone...

Little did he know Valx was not alone, he was far from it actually. Rexus was following this young Jedi padawan and he was due for his appointment with his friendly neighborhood bad guy. Rex didn't like to refer to himself as a bad person his work as a knight in the ancient order was a noble line of work but now he was degraded to stealing and kidnapping. It wasn't the best career change but he owed it to the people who saved him and his new lord. Even though this padawan was young hopefully he couldn't sense the darkness in Rexus' heart from his years as a sith knight.

Waking into the eating establishment behind Valx Rexus saw his mark and sat down with him in front of the man. "A dead man once said, There is no light, there is no dark only the inevitable end of us and how we choose to die. Tell me, do you feel at home here? Or does this place seem like a never ending cycle in which there can be no victor." Rex spoke to the man and took a long dramatic pause then chuckled "Man what a load of crap am I right?" Rexus was a tall man standing at six eleven with a hardy laugh to him. "Now before this all happens I am not one to be messed with. I'm Mr.I it's nice to meet you"

Valx was immediately perturbed by the man's sudden appearance. He could sense an evil about him and the tone of his voice left Valx eerily concerned. How long was he following him?

"Hello, sir. Is there something I can help you with," Valx said calmly.

He had sensed his heart. He was a Dark man. His heart and soul was corrupted.

"Or are you perhaps here to...end me?"

Valx had nothing to defend himself with. Not that it mattered, he could barely defend himself against a womprat, let alone a Sith. He couldn't hardly even see. He sipped on his water and flagged down the waitress droid.

"May I have some smoked nerf, please," He said to the droid.

Surely not in a public place like this. But of course it was the slums of Coruscant...

Rexus chuckled loudly and slammed his fist on the table "End you?! Why would I kill you?! You're worth so much more alive." Rexus smiled and pat the man on his shoulder then sighed "No I'm not here to kill you, I'm here to either change your mind or take you to someone who will change it for you. And trust me you don't want to meet her. The last guy I took her she didn't kill him but let's just say he's no longer with us mentally." a drink slid to Rexus and he took a few gulps out of it then chuckled again "Poor bastard has to be spoon fed now."

Rexus pat the table for a moment then ran his hands through his dreads. "So Mr.Valx I'm here to sway you or take you. Now before you try to kill me lets talk first. Cause they never go without a fight. I'm Mr.I and I only want the best for you. You are wasting your time with the Jedi caught in this pointless battle between good and evil. I was a sith at one point in the days of the galactic empire before the plague. And from what I see now in this time things haven't changed. But you can make a difference you can take the minds of both sides and make them something more than just a pre programmed set of rules to live by and protect the people who can't protect themselves." Rexus chuckled and sat his imperial knights silver lightsaber on to the counter and gripped it "Now usually this is the part where they fight back."

Valx was unknowing of what the newly discovered Sith meant by "this is the part where they fight back." But he did sense trouble. Big trouble. Whether this man was going to kidnap him was lost on Valx. He, of course, didn't fight back. It was a losing battle before it started.

"Sir, I am not an evil person such as you. I only seek the good in people. After I was humbled by losing my sight, I realized, as a 10 year old boy, that evil people lived in this world and needed to be brought to justice. I am not going to fight you, nor am I going to call the authorities. You have done nothing to harm me in anyway as of yet. But, I am curious as to why you chose the path you did. If you are not busy, or trying to kidnap me, maybe you'd sit and tell me your tales," Valx asked calmly.

In truth,, he was curious about this Sith and who this mystery woman was. He also wondered whether he was serious with his threats, or just an evil person trying to coax a padawan out of the Jedi Order. He could understand this man's tactics--poison the mind of the youth while their beliefs are still forming. Valx had to give him props, all the Sith he'd heard about were gung-ho, run in and cut everyone down types, who stabbed first and asked questions later. But then there were these types. The wise, subtle types, who attacked the brain and not the brawn, and those were just as dangerous, if not more so than the others.

"for starters, I'm not evil. I just have a lot of hate." Rexus chuckled and thought for a moment, "I was a sith a very very long time ago in the time before the plague. I've done my fair share of evil and I prefer chaotic neutral." Rex in heart hated both the Jedi and the sith they were both idiotic cultures to him one hell bent on destroying the weak and themselves in a never ending cycle of back stabbing and the other on a quest for peace like a bunch of filthy space hippies. "Listen kid, I'm the nice guy they send. Believe it or not the rest of them are just about as evil as evil gets." It had been months since Rex had a real conversation who someone though. Oh what the hell he could afford to know who he was and what he did before his current line of work.

"Well I suppose there's no shame in telling you a bit. I'm Rex, I'm from the old galactic empire. An imperial Knight between good and evil tasked with protecting the emperor and the galactic empire. I trained as a sith to grow in strength and killed many innocent people so I could live. My master had a thing for torture and I'd rather not talk about that. Once I was promoted I made a promise that I wouldn't kill anyone who didn't deserve it. I broke away fell in love and then I vanished for a couple centuries and that's all the information I can disclose." Rec chuckled again and gave the blind kid a pat on the back "But orders is orders, so would you like to say anything before you come with me willingly or I break your legs and take you?" Rex said in a very upbeat tone without a hint of malice in his voice smiling at the man. "I mean I have a schedule to keep."

@[member="Valx Raizod"] was not alone, joining the blinded Jedi was a small figure, goblin like in form, Olaf Freesa. The small Jedi, having overheard @[member="Rexus Drath"]'s idle threat, stood by his fellow Jedi. "No, wasting YOUR time, you are." He stated firmly, not intimidated in the slightest by the large man who made threats to his fellow padawan. As he'd learned form his people's culture, size mattered not.

Valx smiled at both men, "Well, Rex, you seem like a poor soul who has been led astray by his own motives. Perhaps you should rid yourself of your hatred and join the Jedi," He motioned towards the other padawan, "We are just trainees. Would it not be more profitable to capture a Knight?"

It was good that the other padawan came when he did, Valx was walking on thin ice. There had to have been a way to alert someone without Rex having both their heads in the process. If he could just reach out...maybe he could get his master's attention. Valx raised his hand to his temple and blocked out the noises and smells and focused.

By the Force, "Master @[member="Tallia Farn"] if you can hear me, I am in serious trouble..."

Valx lowered his hand and took a drink, "And besides, you aren't actually a slaver, are you? That's low for someone of your power. I would expect... mercenary, gladiator, freedom fighter...janitor on a charter ship..." Valx chuckled at his own remark.

Rexus looked back at the short fuzzy goblin and began to laugh hysterically. "OH GLOB! OH GLOB LOOK AT IT!! JUST LOOK AT IT!! IT'S SO CUTE!!!" Rex fell to the ground laughing pounding his fist on the ground continuing to laugh and sob now from how pathetic the creature looked. "THAT'S A JEDI!? I'VE KILLED JEDI FOR YEARS AND IVE NEVER SEEN ONE SO ADORABLE!" Rex continued to bellow and laughter for a few moments on the floor then caught his breath.

"Oh glob, that made my night. Thank you for that. Listen kid before your leash holder shows up I got to jet. Stumpy has probably called for help." Rex stood up from the ground and chuckled a bit. "Here if you ever find being a space hippy boring, I'm always around." Rex slipped Valx a card with a comm frequency on it and sighed happily. "You can have a family, you can choose to love and be loved back you can be a father." Rex gave the blind padawan a pat on the head and walked out of the joint and on to the street chuckling. "Oh good god that was adorable."

Olaf was silent throughout the ordeal, it wasn't the first time someone had completely flipped out…but thtey were usually female. Looking to @[member="Valx Raizod"] as @[member="Rexus Drath"] walked out after having sufficiently freaked out everyone and drawn far to much attention to Olaf. The little green goblin would remain silent as he awaited Vax to be ready to leave.

Valx did not turn to @[member="Olaf Freesa"] but instead raised his glass, "Thank you friend. I appreciate your assistance."

He stood and slipped on his cloak, downing the rest of his water. He walked out of the booth, and turned to where he assumed the goblin was, "Are you coming? Or shall I see you at the Temple?"

Valx motioned with his hand to follow him.

"Of course." The Padawan responded, hopping down from his seat. He followed @[member="Valx Raizod"] out of the humble diner and back towards the temple. He wondered if this would be the first of many adventures the two would share, Olaf always did love making new friends.

This goblin character seemed nice enough. It had been a while since Valx had a "friend." Besides, he'd heard it was good to make friends as padawans, for it would make their time easier in the future. Valx walked to a taxi and sat down, patting the seat next to him for his little friend.

"So, I didn't catch your name," Valx stated, "but you seem to hold striking similarities to an old Grandmaster by the name of Yoda."

Valx had read about Grandmaster Yoda in the archives. Yoda was legendary as was his female counterpart, Yaddle. He wondered if this padawan was going to be as legendary as those.

"Honored I am, to be compared to Master Yoda, like him I am [species name censored by Lucasfilm]. Olaf Freesa, I am. You are?" He questioned as they walked. To be compared to his idol was huge to Olaf, he wanted to be like Yoda and Yaddle, but he also wanted to be like other great masters like Obi-Wan. He would forge his own legacy, just as @[member="Valx Raizod"]. The two could both become great Jedi if they kept up their good work, and resisted the temptations of the dark.

Valx walked towards the Temple entrance with Olaf next to him. Boy, it had been a long day, and he was finally happy to get back to training.

"Maybe we can go for a drink sometime soon," Valx whispered to the little goblin.

He knew it sounded childish, but after he still was a teenager, so he could afford to do stupid stuff. Valx walked through the doors and up the stairs to the dorms.

"Perhaps." He responded with a small chuckle as the two walked into the temple, waving goodbye he would split off from the other padawan and head towards the Jedi Library. He had so much to learn, and tonights encounter with an unknown dark side user left him curious.

"Hey can look at this for me?" Rex said to a guard before punching him out he was just some Jedi for the temple on fire watch for the night. "Children." Rex sighed and walked into the temple and up to the dorms sneaking and slunking through the halls. Hopefully the teenager could sense him. He needed to talk to him to show him something of importance. Rexus walked into the Jedi's room and closed the door behind taking a seat on his desk waiting for Valx to walk into his room. He never got that chat and Rexus was not one to simply let the job go. He wouldn't kill or kidnap the kid but perhaps he could plant a small seed into his head.

Valx opened the door to his room and sensed the dark man, "So you thought you could catch me unawares, Rex?"

He shut the door behind him and poured some water into a cup from a pitcher. Valx wasn't in the least bit surprised to see him, he figured he'd see him again soon anyway. But, whatever. He sat down on his bed and sipped the cup.

"Something on your mind, chief," Valx said, "or are you just here to hang out?"

"First off don't call me chief, skipper." Rex tapped his fingers on the desk and chuckled. "I wanted to show you something, I know we got off on the wrong foot and all but I'm hoping that we can get an understanding." Rex could kill the young Jedi to be here and now, but that wouldn't get him anywhere. He needed results of some kind, the last kid he sent up the river was now clinically insane and will never walk again and was probably dead in a pool of his own blood in wonderland. "I want to tell you something, there exists a place where people who refuse go to. Where horrible things happen to them. Would you like to hear about it?" standing up Rex chuckled softly and placed his saber on the desk with a loud clunk to show he wasn't armed "Many people die there, some just children. I only want to keep you from being there. Your name is on the list and I can't stop hunting you until you are dead or in the system." Rexus didn't like the idea of forcing a child to do what needed to be done but he owed these people. "I want to take you there and then bring you back, to see that this doesn't end like it did for that poor boy. I will bring you back you have my word as a knight."
