"
Greetings, Mr. Secretary. The scene is not yet secure - please wait. I apologize for any inconven..."

Shrugging off the warning from the CSF droid, Gerault bypassed the holographic police line flanked by his own small CSF security detail. Searching for the uniform glamor of a ranking officer was almost impossible given the commotion. Such a search too was dampened by the almost a poetic conditions for such events to be taking place; daylight fading, a sulfuric drizzle coming down, and the typical Coruscanti bustle made for a normal scene only distinguishable by almost excessive police presence. Today was a dark day for Coruscant, for it's one-time mayor Zeradias Mant had been found dead in his home, rumors swirling about an assassination.

Zeradias Mant was no stranger to Coruscant - its politics or its stains. His party platform was one which shunned outside parties like the one which currently held dominion of the city once more. The political battle between Coruscant First and the Galactic Alliance of old was a contentious one, one which garnered Mant many enemies, but it was also one which highlighted the importance of local voices on the galactic stage. For all its faults, Gerault empathized with its intention. It would seem, however, that Mant's day of reckoning has come, even after retiring from the arena which he made his enemies.

After some commotion amongst the officers working, what appeared to be the ranking officer on scene made his way to the secretary's entourage. "Mr. Secretary.", the officer greeted curtly with a handshake. "Lieutenant Kilgour. I'm the ranking officer on scene. Precinct heard about your arrival, the captain is on her way. I'm afraid I can't say much more at the moment."

Gerault wanted to snarl. Not only did the lieutenant know more than he was letting on, but as the executive of the department overseeing law enforcement functions on Coruscant, he was certainly within his right to request and be privy to raw information as it was being unearthed. No. The lieutenant's answer would not suffice. Rather than berating a mid-level manager in the streets, Rush simply began to advance into the building from which investigators, detectives, and medical staff were in and out of.

And then came the room. He knew what to expect, but it shocked him all the same. The zip of the body bag, the pool of blood - especially the blood. There was so much of it.

"We suspect foul play of course.", a new voice said. It was the precinct commander. "You should know we don't like reporting raw information before we can analyze it. Your presence here too...creates a distraction."

Ignoring the captain's cautions, Gerault continued his inquiries. "Motive is pretty apparent, but do you have any suspects?"

"Not yet, but we'll have something concrete for you by the end of the day tomorrow."

"Today, captain."

"Yes, sir," she answered reluctantly.
