BLACK FEATHERS

Oba Diah. Again.

And another Pyke Ringleader as target. This time, however, it was an open Bounty, so there was bound to be more hunters on this one. Lom Tolsite has managed to peeve off enough powerful people that a sizeable prize had been placed on his head. Every hunter with a braincell would be after this guy to get those creds.

She had to be quick.

Problem is, Tamna knew how difficult it was to get to these ringleaders. It can be done, but it will be a bit of nightmare to go at it alone. Chances are good she would have to pull out her saber and the Force to get in or out.

She was leaning against a building wall, watching the Pyke compound as she chewed her lip trying to figure out how to get in undetected. Suddenly, a high-pitched binary chirp sounded next to her.
"I'm sorry, Alfie. What did you say?" she asked, looking down at her astromech.
He gave a frustrated whirr.
"It wasn't on purpose, ok?"
He looked at her for a minute before finally repeating his warble that she had missed.
"Seriously? What are the chances that anyone else knows about that entrance?" she asked him.
He was quiet for a minute as he calculated before chirping his findings.
"Those are low enough odds. Come on."

The two of them took off into the bustling street, in the direction of a fairly hidden drain grid to the side of the compound.

Finally reaching the alleyway in which it was located, she crouched down behind a dumpster and looked at Alfred.
"Can you please do another full scan of the area so we know what we're up against, Alfie? I don't want surprises."
The little blue ball warbled at her before his scanner deployed and started rotating.

She sincerely hoped she was the first one on this trail.

The streetlight right outside the alleyway did not offer the alleyway much light. In fact, the sparse traffic on the opposite side did more to increase visibility than it did. The occasional swooshing sounds from the landspeeders passing by outside intertwined with the tired noise from the compound's ventilation shafts and the low hum of a seemingly powerful generator from inside the building.

Multiple lifesigns would be picked up in the surrounding area upon conducting a scan. Most of them would stem from the building on the opposite side of the targeted compound but a good number of people seemed to be in the same locales as the mark too. If observant, the droid would likely also pick up on a lifeform approaching them from the side with the flickering lamp. While the stranger could not yet be seen, his approach maintained a good pace and the course seemed to be set.

It would not be long until a small drone popped out from behind a fire ladder. It did not seem to be armed - it was too small - but it had a good lens, an antenna at the back and; as she would soon find out, a powerful torchlight. It turned on in her direction, removing much of the cover which the darkness had previously provided. The seemingly empty alleyway then had another figure appear.

Sentros wore a tight-fitting white shirt under a worn leather vest. A heavy-looking dufflebag with an open zipper at the top hung over his back. His hands lingered by his hips, close to where his blasters were holstered. The spotlight shining at her from behind him, however, made the finer details hard to decipher. "You have worse survival instincts than a Womp Rat" his cool voice carried a notable drawl. There was no real hostility to his tone - but it was not quite friendly either.

The man stepped forth - either not believing her to be a threat, or having absolute faith in the speed of his draw. Strong facial features and white hair could now be seen as he nodded in the direction of the drain grid "You should think twice about going in there." a smirk formed on his lips "Why don't we team up. In return for a 75/25 split, I might even tell you about the next deathtrap."

She sensed a presence even before Alfie picked up the approaching life sign.

She subtly removed her pistol from her holster, unseen from the way she was squatting behind the dumpster. She let the barrel point behind her from under her other arm and then she waited.

And sure enough, there was action.

A strong light lit up the alleyway and her in particular, causing Alfie to let out an angry whirr. Whoever this was, was either very arrogant or very stupid. She didn't need to see where she would be shooting - her parents and the Corps made sure of that all those years ago.

"You have worse survival instincts than a Womp Rat"
Tamna snorted before she squinted over her shoulder. "You sure about that, Starshine?" she asked ominously and rhetorically, yet she didn't stand up.

The man stepped forward and she could finally see him. Pity that such arrogance had to belong to a cute guy and that she would have to end up probably putting a bolt in his noggin.
"You should think twice about going in there." a smirk formed on his lips "Why don't we team up. In return for a 75/25 split, I might even tell you about the next deathtrap."
She laughed and got up and turned around with the pistol pointing smack dab at his chest with her finger right next to the trigger.
"Do tell, Snowflake." she said. "You entirely sure about that deathtrap, seeing as you didn't foresee this one?" She smirked at him, though her pistol remained trained on him. "And who the hell even are you? I don't team up with John Does so spill on that name. And if you want to team up, I won't settle for less than 50. I've done a hunt in there before, chum. I don't need to have a partner. So fix your proposition or we're gonna have problems."

For emphasis, Alfred flipped open his molecular torch and rolled slightly forward in a threatening manner, making it clear that he has his master's back. If she wasn't in a stand-off, she'd laugh at her little droid's stoutness. She wasn't sure how far he'll get if he attacked but it was good to know that he stood by her.

This feller better make the right decision or he'd have a feral astromech to deal with.

His eyes drifted down to meet the end of her barrel whilst he ignored the droid for the time being. A smirk flared up on his lips before his eyes snapped back up to hers. A challenge

The Outlaw would not interrupt. Instead, he listened as eyes slowly scanned her from the toes and up, seemingly soaking up every detail, all highlighted by the probe floating somewhere behind him to the side. His eyes certainly seemed to carry an interested glint to them once his gaze returned to her eyes.

Breaking the short moment of silence he had allowed to linger after her words, he let out a strong "Sentros Hannascand" whilst letting his left hand leave the side of the holster to instead push it against his chest whilst producing a slight bow. Something either more common in high society or the farther reaches of the galaxy where gestures mattered more than on Oba Diah.

"Those too quick to pull the trigger don't tend to live very long" he took another glance down to her belt "An' you don't look all that green to me" His broad drawl was just as pronounced as it had been when he first introduced himself. The arm which he had raised to greet her now waved the probe over. It complied quickly and hummed in to hover a little bit above them. The light it provided dimmed, consequently creating a somewhat more pleasant environment for them.

His foot tapped against the hard floor a couple of times as if thinking of something. "Now, if you really want it all for yourself, feel free, get on in there. Just give me a moment to get some distance." he threw a glance at the drain grid - the one he had indicated was trapped. "Or, you take me up on my offer. I'll throw this in: If you manage to save my hide in there, we'll go up to 50/50. If I save yours, well, that'd just be part of the deal, wouldn't it?"

BLACK FEATHERS

Tamna picked up on the introductory etiquette immediately.

It may not look like it most days, but she was raised in high society and still knew the more diplomatic and eloquent ways. She also knew it would it get you either beat up or killed by the majority of the Underworld of the Galaxy as it directly contradicts their free way of life.
"Tamna Fox." she merely said with a two-finger salute while she slightly tilted the barrel upward to no longer point blatantly at him. She didn't put it away, however. Bounty Hunting 101: Never underestimate another hunter.

Those too quick to pull the trigger don't tend to live very long" he took another glance down to her belt "An' you don't look all that green to me"
"That's 'cause I'm not, genius." she deadpanned. "So you can bet your lily white ass there'll be problems if you don't fix your deal."
Yet, this guy still can't seem to get it. Tam sighed as her free hand visibly hovered close to an EMP grenade hooked to her belt - he didn't have to know that that wasn't what she was going to go for if he kept pushing. "Look, Snowflake, you're the one that approached me for a partnership - I ain't the greenhorn here it seems. Word of advice, lose the Arkanian etiquette or you'll get snuffed faster than spice when the wrong people catch wind of it. Second, if you want to strongarm someone into a deal, pick someone that's NOT an elite. And you being scared of a little trapped drain tells me you don't know how to override it. Guess what - I can. Now, it's 50/50. I save your skin in there, it's 60/40 in my favour. End of story." She gave him a smirk before turning on her heel and marching to the grid with Alfie following behind her while his photoreceptors remained on the funny guy.

Kneeling about a foot away from the grid, she flicked open the wrist console in her vambrace.
"Now let's see if they upgraded this since the last time, buddy." she mumbled.
Alfie gave a low grumble while his scanner was deployed again, this time checking the manner of the trap.

While data started uploading to her wrist, Tamna glanced over her shoulder at Sentros.

"So, how long have you been on the hunting scene?"

Fiesty. A grin appeared when she claimed not to be green and it only grew as she went on about why she deserved a 50/50. He was clearly enjoying this. Showing both palms he took half a step back with his mouth making an 'O' upon hearing her call herself 'elite'. It appeared as if the woman was just as amused as he was. He nodded to her smirk as she had finally declared her conditions - but she did not linger for him to counter her. Instead, she turned on her heel to get to work. Letting his eyes linger on her back as she moved away, he let out a brief "Y'won't get more than a 50"

Following her to the the grid, he watched the data streaming in to her vambrace, casually - or perhaps unknowingly - showing off remarkably good eyesight. His gaze was momentarily torn from the device as she turned to look at him "A few years. Didn't think much of huntin' others but a bit of a happenin' had me reevaluate" His eyes rested on hers, as if trying to see what she was thinking - at least for a few moments.

After some time, he nodded to her vambrace, effectively taking the conversation elsewhere: To the job. "It'll pick up their sensors. They're a lil' tricky to get to, cuz they're a few steps into the duct. It'll likely also pick up that its wired to a gun at the end of it. It goes off when the sensor is triggered and once you're that deep, it's tricky to evade." He paused, curious to see her response - but it was obvious that he was holding something back. "What your scanner prolly won't be pickin' up are the pressure plates. They're mechanical and hide bags of poison gas. They cleared a guy out from there a couple of days back."

BLACK FEATHERS

She had heard him when she walked away.

Tamna had smiled to herself, knowing she had managed to at least secure an equal cut without outright putting a bolt in his noggin. The rest can be discussed afterward - they had a job to do first. It won't be easy getting to that Pyke.

She listened to him as he spoke about his time as hunter. So he wasn't as green as he appeared. Good to know. She did notice the pistols on his belt, so she'd wager that he'd be a pretty decent shot. But the way he spoke - it reminded Tamna of her own situation. Where, normally, she'd be able to return home and be the heir to the Korvan family, she definitely can't do that now after the rest of her family's exploits put a bright red target on the Korvan name. So she was forced to stay in the Underworld and its affiliates because of her own happenin's.
"Yeah, tell me about it." she merely remarked rhetorically, not wanting to give anything away.

Her eyes darted back to the data appearing on the wrist-computer. She knew better than to rely on it alone, so she didn't plan to. But extra information never hurt anyone. The rest she can feel with her extra sense - not that he needed to know that.

But he seemed to want to play the all-knowing.

She listened to his analysis, her face impassive at anything he said. She allowed him to finish, cocking her head up to him. She looked at him for a moment, contemplating her response. But she was pretty much fed up of the pissing contest and just wanted to get the show on the road.
"All right, I'll pretend I wasn't here before. Please, take the lead - what would you suggest?" she asked him, no sarcasm in her voice for a change, as motioning toward the drain.

She'll play it his way and just do clean up.

Tension characterised their interactions so far. It would hardly be a surprise to anyone, considering how there was an underlying threat of violence throughout. Still, the two of them had been courteous to each other - but even then, he maintained a well-composed and serious demeanour. Now, however, it seemed like the two had struck a deal. After a few moments, his furrowed forehead and tight lips ceded ground for a bit of a smile. It was surprisingly humble, perhaps even charming, as he bowed his head and pointed to a ladder on the building on the opposite side of the alley.

With that, he moved towards it whilst rolling up his sleeves before finally starting the climb. "They tried to secure this but the owners of this building wouldn't have it. So they secured their roof instead." he spoke, throwing a few glances down to Tamna to let the sound carry to her more easily.

As they climbed, the probe was floating up along with them. But it did not have to rely on a ladder, instead, it simply rose slowly along the side of the wall of their target building. "From what I've seen, they've got all possible entrances covered. They've likely got a few guys walkin' the ground floor - at least that's what I'd have. So I'm figurin' that we'll make our own entrance there" he stopped climbing for a moment to point at the wall where the second floor could be presumed to be. As he did, the probe floated up to the wall he pointed at.

Sentros continued the climb and only stop once he was a bit more than a meter above where his probe hovered. At that point, he scooted out to the side of the ladder to hang on to it with a single arm and foot. "You like it? Gimmie the holler an' we'll make a new entrance."
