APPEARANCE:
Slender but athletic, Tycho carries himself with a strong, upright bearing. He moves gracefully, with a light footfall and slight swagger. With his white hair and grey eyes, which denote his Echani lineage, he stands out in a crowd. Generally, Tycho wears a dark leather jacket, spacer pants and boots, though that changes as the situation requires.
PERSONALITY:
Tycho can be summed up as loyal, brave, cheeky and impulsive. Favouring a quieter, calmer demeanor among his peers, he can also display a "life of the party" persona when he feels it. He often makes decisions that land him in hot water, either with other residents of the Blue District of Corellia or CorSec, but his quick-thinking nature and gifted athleticism, combined with his not inconsiderable charm allow him to deal with most situations. He is steadfastly loyal to those he considers "his", and will take responsibility in order to get his mates out of trouble. He will act in ways detrimental to himself, in some situations, in order to look after his own. Never afraid to throw a punch, never afraid to back down, and never one to throw a mate under the bus.
BIOGRAPHY:
Tycho Kae is one of the last members of a powerful Echani clan with a history that stretches back thousands of years. He himself is a direct descendant of Hana Kae, better known as the False Kae, a Dark Jedi who fought to establish a new Echani homeworld on Thyrsus more than eight hundred years ago. This struggle involved the Kae and their rivals, the Keth, and ended with the Kae firmly established on Thyrsus supported by the Jedi Order and a Dark Jedi sect. One of the key members of this sect was a young Dark Jedi going by the moniker of Strider, who grew to become the powerful Sith Lord Alen Na'Varro, who was assumed dead for eight hundred years before reappearing recently as an Arbiter of the Fringe Confederation.
Under Tycho's direct ancestor, the Jedi Knight Varrian Kae, the Echani under the Kae's protection on Thyrsus flourished. This tradition continued for the next four hundred years, with continual growth and expansion compounding until the advent of the Gulag Plague. During that time, the descendants of the False Kae split from those of the True Kae, and spread themselves throughout the galaxy. Tycho's ancestors fell on hard times and found themselves on Corellia. Then came the Gulag Plague.
The plague decimated the Echani population on Thyrsus. On Corellia, however, the government were quick to isolate themselves from the outside galaxy. As a result, the Kae line on Corellia survived the Plague, but that did not mean there was a change in fortunes for the better. They were forced to etch out a hard living in Corellia's rough Blue Quarter where prospective employment was low and crime rampant. This is where Tycho Kae was raised.
Tycho was born to Arryn Kae and Valla Kerros, two full-blooded Echani who were important members of the Echani enclave on Corellia. With two proud and upstanding parents, Tycho was afforded a stable home life that most of his peers lacked. However, his neighborhood had a high level of bad influences. As he grew, his grades dropped and interest in sport declined. Tycho could be found conducting mischief and petty crime with his group of friends thoughout the district, and he developed a rough and tumble personality, though some grew to know him as kind-hearted, sensitive and loyal.
Tycho kept up with his Echani martial arts training, and as a result maintained a strong relationship with his race and culture. Work and a direction for his life to follow were harder to find. Tycho did not apply to university, and a stint with the Omega Protectorate Marines ended halfway though his training cycle for mysterious reasons, despite his excellent aptitude and training results. After a few odd jobs came and went, Tycho found work as security on board a transport and salvage vessel operating from Corellia to the outer reaches of the galaxy. Named Razorleaf, the ship's crew scrape to make ends meet through whatever means possible, legitimate or illegitimate. The last bastion of the False Kae now roams the stars in search of his calling.
