In life Tycho Brightblade was a Jedi Knight of the Dawnbringer Temple on Midvinter. He fell at the Breach of Tháinbroek to wight blades but when those who carried the day sought to bury their dead his body was not among them. For even as

slew the Vinterbound giant and broke their ranks dark blood pooled around a fallen Tycho and imbued him with new undeath. Unable to cope with the transformation taking over him he fled north beyond the Lake of the Dead.
It did not take him long to discover his newfound power over the Vinterbound wights. They seemed not only uninterested in violence against him but willing to answer his every beck and call. Over time Tycho found that he could even raise new wights from fresh corpses. But with these unnatural powers came a dark price. Soon the Vinterbound began to whisper to him. They want him to take up their unholy cause. Something happened long ago, something the Valkyri's High God Odiir did to imprison them on this world. For now Tycho resists these violent urges but the Vinterbound are so very angry and growing difficult to control.
