SPECIAL FEATURES

DESCRIPTION

The Type-01 Nyx class jamming module is an electronic countermeasure package specifically designed to target telepathic/wireless modes of communication as used by biots like villips and related synthetic platforms such as artificial biocomms. The Nyx was secretly developed in parallel with the first generation of Panacea created biocomms as a contingency in the event that Panacea's proprietary technology was ever compromised and used against the Kiribian Systems Union and its allies like the Silver Jedi and the Galactic Alliance. Additionally, such countermeasures would prove immensely invaluable in a scenario where Sith Alchemists/Shapers made wide use of biot technology again as during the days of the One Sith and Vong Hordes.

The composition is very similar to a Panacea style organic biocomm, with a large modified vacuum-type villip serving as the core of the design. An oggzil, in turn, connects the villip to a calor bio-computer that serves to control the biot components. The biocomputer is fitted with its own dedicated encryption module that utilizes both honey and lattice-based encryption, effective against attacks from both classical computing systems, as well as parallel processing/exotic systems like quantum computers or memristor neural networks. The delicate biot and processing components are first encased in a hermetically sealed capsule with a nutrient feed, followed by subsequent protective layers of agrinium, plastoid, and reinforced duraplast.

In function, the Nyx works similar to a classical electronic jamming pod, except that it operates solely on the specific frequencies used by biots and related artificial systems for telepathic/wireless communication. Firstly, while it cannot intercept comms, it can passively detect incoming and outgoing transmissions between nodes within its effective range, tipping off operators. Secondly, it can emit powerful jamming signals designed to interfere with transmissions or generate false signals and junk data for spoofing and clogging bandwidth.

The Nyx comes in two variants, a Standard-grade module for starfighters and small vehicles, and a Capital-grade module for large warships and installations. Both variants are identical in function, the only difference being in the effective range of each.

Strengths:
  • Able to detect telepathic/wireless transmissions as used by biots and related synthetic systems and jam/spoof them.
  • Heavily encrypted with a dedicated advanced encryption module.
  • Highly EMP/Ion resistant.
Weaknesses:
  • A niche item, only working against specific forms of communication. This item is useless for conventional EWAR or for detecting Force-based telepathy.
  • When the jamming function is used, the Nyx module becomes easily detectable by any sensor capable of detecting biot frequencies.
  • The biot components and biocomputer are highly vulnerable to chemical and biological weapons once the protective casing is ruptured.
  • Power hungry.

Conceptually, I don't see anything wrong with this. It's a bit niche, but it should work well for the intended purpose. However, we do have a couple small issues to iron out.

The issue here is that Panacea doesn't cover this sort of thing under their operations.

One could argue that this submission counts as bioengineering, but it's blatantly military rather than a medical or agricultural application. You'll need to either pick a new company or expand the existing operations of Panacea before this submission can be approved.

The range for this is excessive. Please reduce to more appropriate levels.
