OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Jenn Kryze
  • Affiliation: Jenn Kryze, The Mandalorian Enclave
  • Market Status: Open-Market
  • Model: Type-41 Peacemaker, named so as the 41st prototype ended up making the cut during Jenn's development of the weapon.
  • Modularity: Yes. The scope can be switched out for another with minimal effort (although unwise), as can the stock and the grip. Modifying this weapon is no complicated thing for someone familiar with weapon modifications.
  • Production: Minor
  • Material: Durasteel, Blaster Components.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Blaster
  • Size: Large
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Ammunition Type: Power Cell
  • Ammunition Capacity: Very Small
  • Effective Range: Long Range
  • Rate of Fire: Very Low
  • Damage Output: None
  • Recoil: High
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Peacemaker is a stun blaster with a rather impressive amount of operational settings, capable of modifying the strength of the discharge by referencing the species of the target into the high-tech scope attached to the weapon, regulating the power cell and its usage before each shot is fired.
STRENGTHS
  • Nonlethal: The Peacemaker was made for nonlethal takedowns, and the weapon's designs and integrated safety measures make it nigh impossible to turn it into a tool of death. Effective at long ranges, it is capable of neutralizing a target for a fair few minutes: exactly how long depends on each lifeform, although the modular power setting allows someone to adjust
  • EMP: When used against droids, the target is rendered inoperable for a fair few minutes - about as long as it takes for an organic to recover from the stun as well. Carefully engineered as not to bring permanent harm to a synthetic, it is another sign of the creator's commitment to the nonlethal vision for the weapon.
WEAKNESSES
  • Nonlethal: The Peacemaker was made for nonlethal takedowns, and the weapon's designs and integrated safety measures make it nigh impossible to turn it into a tool of death. For better or worse. Best hope the target does not return fire with a much more conventional weapon.
  • Take the Shot: Due to the unique make of the weapon, it is heavy, unwieldy, and incapable of providing sustained fire. Painfully slow reloads, accompanied by a low rate of fire, turn the idea of follow-up shots into a fantasy.
  • Not your dad's slugthrower: As a high-tech weapon meant for use in highly populated areas in order to prevent a massacre, the Peacemaker is particularly susceptible to weapon degradation when used in harsh environments. If the blaster components do not fail first, the electronics of the scope will. And all the user is left with is a very heavy piece of junk.
DESCRIPTION
Weapons are made for war. It is their purpose. And a weapon that cannot fight is not a useful one.

Why a Mandalorian gunsmith, responsible for the construction of brutal weapons of war, would choose to create a weapon incapable of killing another being is... difficult to ascertain. Perhaps it was a desire for atonement or an academic desire to explore a weapon design meant for peace-keeping. The intent of its creator matters little, in the end.

The Peacemaker delivers on what it promises by offering security forces an accurate weapon capable of reliably stunning targets at long ranges, may they be organic or synthetic - with a few caveats. Due to its weight and unwieldy nature, using it in any other capacity than a dedicated sniper team waiting on standby is unfeasible - moreover, the need to adjust the power setting depending on the target species is inconvenient when a diverse group of suspects is to be apprehended. Follow-up shots are a difficult proposition given the heavy trigger as well as the time taken by the power cell to ready another shot, and the rather noticeable kick completes the picture of a weapon demanding a single well-placed shot to end a confrontation.

But when a target must be apprehended without death for one reason or another, its potential is undeniable.
