Combat Function
- Availability: Unommon 5000 members
- Deployment: Minor several hundred at a time
- Strengths & Weaknesses:
Strengths - Trained to Defend: Stationed as a home guard for the planet of Tythe and never to leave the 1st regiment excels in what limited defense capability it can. Most soldiers easily able to identify good defensive positions and set up choke points and kill zones
- Long Range: Like all regiments in the Tythish Royal Army all soldiers are trained mainly in long range combat over anything else, mainly due to the wide open plains of the planet on which they live and the absence of much natural cover besides the more hilly/mountainous regions.
- Hot Environments: The weather of Tythe makes the 1st regiment more comfortable with warm environments and does not suffer from heat fatigue as much. Their equipment also helping with such a role
[*]Weaknesses
- Limited Equipment: The 1st regiment is (unless needed) to remain on Tythe most time and thus is not expected to be fighting front line conflicts all the time. As such only basic equipment, enough for training and light defense are supplied to the regiment.
- Non Attacks: Though being compatible in close range combat the regiments equipment and general training makes them not ideal from attacking as a storm trooper would. Ideal they can be used as support and to come behind the main force and clear out any resistance.
Description
History
With the ever expanding population of Tythe with the influx of refugees from the core worlds it became apparent that a larger foot military force would be needed for the colonies and other small town. Such a fact along with the realistic need for a proper military in case of an attack but also for the CIS to use in foreign campaigns kick started the creation of the Royal Tythish military. With the beginning of the new army it did not take long for the first regiment to be made, most recruits coming from untrained refugees that where unable to find work and had no immediate family members to live with.
Primary Function
Though being regarded as an actual military regiment and trained for warfare the 1st regiment is not enretly made with the intention of having them go off to fight anytime soon. Though always prepared for a potential attack of the planet and the rare case to be shipped off world if need be the first regiment if more a 'home guard' like unit, and on the job training regiment for new recruits.
Those that join the military with little to no training are placed inn this regiment, most of their time spent training and patrolling the rural towns of the planet as police force. Their usual bright red uniforms helping them stand out from the populaces, mainly being as many different planets had different looking law enforcement entities. As such the iconic red coat of the Tythish dress uniform being easy to recognize, though when on military assignments usually wear the dust (brown) variant of their uniforms.
Training and Battle Doctrine
All members of the 1st regiment are trained mainly in defensive ware fair as it is the easiest to pass on to new recruits and not being to hard to run simulations with. This selective and focused training though seeming to be a one trick pony makes the 1st regiment excel in making defensive perimeters or makeshift fortification around location they are to defend.
In the case of an attack the regiment adopt volley fire like methods, not so much standing up in the open and letting lose shot after shot, but the regiment does make layered like defenses. Each of these layers firing one after the other in a constant cycle that pours a never ending wave of slug or laser fire onto the enemy. Such allows enough time to reload with the known fact that the suppressing fire is being kept up.
