STRENGTHS

• NO PILOTS IN DANGER: The primary advantage of an unmanned Starfighter/Drone is that no sentient is put in danger. This is also an added advantage in the modularity as weapon systems and payload can be worked depending on the mission parameters.
• CAPABLE OF LONGER OPERATIONS: No pilots means no need for rest and can stay out longer on longer reconnaissance runs.
• S.E.R.A.P.H.I.M.: Constant uplink to the fleet AI is an advantage because constant and faster relays of information and orders enable a more efficient operation.
• NOT JUST AUTOMATED: The difference between A.R.C.A.N.E. and droidbrains are for the reason in that each has their own roles ARCANE can handle them all. The uplink to SERAPHIM adds to their capabilities as well as being able to uplink to a fighter group and act as wingmen on attack runs.

WEAKNESSES

• NOTHING BEATS THE SENTIENT BEHIND THE STICK: The "ARTIMUS" is a very efficient and capable reconnaissance drone. The droidbrains will follow their orders to a "T" but that can often lead to trouble when improvisation is necessary. The capabilities just aren't necessarily there.
• DEFENSIVE DOESN'T MEAN BULWARK: The Artimus is a stealth unit in every sense of the word, that does not mean much in a dogfight
• CAN BE HACKED: While it is not easy to do so, the Artimus does not have a cognitive pilot paying attention to any slicing into the systems. The Droidbrains are more than capable, but slicing is not impossible.
• PAYLOAD: A well placed shoot and ARTIMUS goes "Boom"!

DESCRIPTION
The ARTIMUS is a tailless, strike fighter-sized unmanned aircraft developed by Guardian Authority Ltd. as part of the U.C.A.S. System Carrier Demonstration program.

Under a contract awarded in 895 ABY, the company designed, produced and is currently flight testing two ARTIMUS aircraft. In 898 ABY, these aircraft were used to demonstrate the first-ever carrier-based launches and recoveries by a relevant, low-observable, unmanned autonomous aircraft. In 899 ABY, the ARTIMUS once again made aviation history by successfully conducting the first-ever Autonomous Aerial Refueling (AAR) of an unmanned aircraft. AAR unlocks the full potential of what unmanned surveillance, strike and reconnaissance systems can do in support of the Navy. These historic demonstrations solidify the concept of future unmanned aircraft and prove that the ARTIMUS can perform standard missions — like aerial refueling — and operate seamlessly with manned aircraft as part of the Carrier Air Wing. Originally designed as a Reconaissance ship, the Strike capabilities were soon realized.
