Ugh...that time of year (Open to all)

Krussk hated this time of year, it was called Life Day or something to that effect on Kashyyyk. Although the Wookies celebrated it every three years other planets had taken to it and twisted it into an annual event and Coruscant having many races and species was no exception. And so the large Trandoshan found himself sitting in a cantina trying to avoid the holiday altogether. Even on Trandosha they celebrated Life Day (or the Trandoshan's own version of it) and they usually spent the time with family but since his family was dead and his people had disowned him he saw no reason to celebrate.

As the barkeep came up to Krussk he poured his drink, mistaking the thoughtful look on his face as upset (although it's hard for humans to decipher Trandoshan's emotions) and being the only one in the cantina. The barkeep gaining some courage spoke up "cheer up mate, Happy Life Day!" he said with a smile...that quickly vanished as Krussk gave him a dirty look that even the human understood. "I....uh gotta go...wash some dishes now, I'll uh be back when you need uh a uh refill" with that the barkeep beat a hasty retreat into the back where Krussk was certain there were no dirty dishes. Krussk picked up his drink and reflected on his family and took a large gulp of his drink hoping to forget his past today.

Hijinks

Cheshire Shi'ido
Jink didn't enjoy Life Day all that much. Maybe it was the fact that a lot of the population of Widek were Vong, but nobody felt like celebrating the Wookiee holiday very much. Especially not Jink. It brought to mind the day that his parents had given up on him. They'd left him to die or amount to nothing in the Escher. They'd cast an unmovable shadow over his life and the strange home he loved so much. Sure, he'd found new family, in Carliah and Joelle, but he still couldn't shake the memory of the day he'd felt his parents disappear from the strange floating castle.

It had been in orbit around some dead planet that nobody had heard of, and his father had simply said 'good night', and then they'd run off to do something more fulfilling than raising their young hundred year old son. He'd felt when they left, and then he'd felt it like a knife cutting through him when they'd died fifty years later. During the time of the Life Day celebration he'd been mimicking in the illusion rooms. It had caused him to go ballistic, smashing droids that had served him for most of his life and destroying illusions he'd spent decades creating.

With all this in mind, his ears and tail drooped sadly as he sighed and sat down in a booth. He told a waiter to bring him whatever was aged the strongest, and a couple of bacon sandwiches to eat. He figured the food could be eaten, because he was hungry, and the drink would give him a reason to linger here, away from the rest of the galaxy.
