Ugly Life Day Sweater Party : Solo Edition [Past RP]

Cornet City, Corellia
Apartment of Delila Castillon-Solo and [member="Brad Solo"]
Life Day Eve ; Dusk

As the sun was setting over Cornet City, Delila looked out the window below, drinking from a caf mug that read Redheads Do It Best. Her outfit was somewhat unusual though. Delila wore a dark blue sweater with dancing bears across the bottom and a comfortable pair of dark-washed trousers. The sweater was hideous. Something old blind ladies wore in nursing homes all across the Galaxy. Yet this was the point. The uglier the sweater the better.

Behind her, food lay out on the kitchen countertops and a roast was still going in the oven. Wine sat chilling in the fridge, along with some ale and various other alcoholic beverages. Consider it a grown-up Life Day celebration. It seemed to be better to have it now than actually on Life Day, when one most likely wanted to spend time doing what they wished. Following a Solo-Family tradition, there would be a gift exchange as well. Delila was just hoping they didn't have to play and idiotic, drunken-fueled games. No one wanted to be half-cocked trying to play charades.

Stepping away from the window, Delila finished her caf and washed the mug, putting it away. [member="Hawk Solo"] and [member="Samantha Solo"] would be arriving shortly to enjoy the gathering. She was unsure who else was invited. Didn't Hawk have some adopted son? Dells wasn't so sure, trying to keep up with everyone involved a manual.

"Brad, did you fall in?" She called out back to their bedroom jokingly. It was like trying to drag a beauty queen away from that mirror sometimes.

OOC :

Alright, this is a past rp, maybe set 6 or so years ago. Brad and Dells are freshly married, so everything is still grand. We decided it would be fun to host a Solo Family party. Feel free to invite those closest to you -- dates, children, friends, etc. Just be sure to wear and ugly sweater.

Hawk had just turned twenty at few days ago. He had just danced his professional performance of Swan Lake. Tonight he was going to tell the family about his career choice. He wanted witness so that his mom didn't kill him.

He really hated the ugly sweater thing but,he was going to be a good sport about it. He decided on wear red sweater with a reindeer sweater on it. He swung by Layla place to pick her up. She was his dance partner and current girlfriend. She wasn't going to be happy that he would be leaving their tour. Still she was his girl. She was dressed in sweater dress that had bells on it. She got into the speeder with him.

Was it is hair that kept him in the bathroom for so long? Every hair carefully placed. Hair gel and hair spray keeping it into place. It was part of the time that kept Brad so long in the bathroom. Was it the time consuming time of flossing, brushing, then rinsing those beautiful white teeth? OK all of that took a large chunk of his time in the bathroom. Was it a hour he had been in here? He could not recall as he looked at the sweater he was wearing in the mirror. Adjusting the bow tie one last time he heard his lovely wife and her charming vernacular. “I’m coming gorgeous”, Brad yelled back having a discussion with his wife through walls again.

Exiting out of the bathroom and traversing through the house he came into the kitchen. “Cute bears”, Brad leaned in kissed [member="Delila Castillon"] on the check. “You ready for some family fun?”

Brad emerged looking like a model for a sweater company. To her, the festive garment wasn't one that screamed 'hideous' right away. However, she did know Brad. To him it was probably the most foul thing he had to ever purchase or wear. Inside, he must be weeping at the loss of his usual attire. No doubt his sister, [member="Samantha Solo"] would react in a similar fashion.

"Nice...woodland creatures."

She kissed him back and turned to pull down some wine glasses at his question.

"I'm ready to sit back, grab my glass of wine and watch the Solo drama begin, sure. As long as the heat stays on someone else. I don't feel like fielding questions like 'when are you are Brad going to have kids?' or 'you are trying, aren't you?" or....'when are you going to quit being a solider?'. Maybe the heat will stay on your brother most of the night. That would be fun for me."

Layla was excited about going to Solo family Life day party. She had met Brad and his wife a couple of times over the past year. Now she was invited to a family gathering. She couldn't help but wonder if Hawk was going to pop the question tonight. He had been acting so strange the last few days. She already knew her answer. She would says yes. She adores him. They look and dance so well togethe with. her golden blonde hair and his dark hair. They made a striking couple.

From the looks of the driveway they were the first to arrive. Hawk gives Layla a quick kiss before they go to the door. Hawk knocks on the door before walking in. He had a few bags of gifts with him. "Happy Life Day Eve." He says to Brad and Dells.

Sabrina was a excited about the party tonight. She hoped that Del would make the baby annoucement. It would be so nice to have a little baby in the family again. The ugly sweater is fun idea. She couldn't wait to see what Brad picked out. Knowing her son, he would look like a model. She decided on wearing a black sweater with a life day tree that lights up.

She hoped that Hawk came. His tour of Swan Lake was coming to the end. He was supposed to start rehearse for The Prince for Sleeping Beauty.

Her little red speeder pull into next to Hawk. She fixes her hair than grabs out all the presents.

Her mother had picked this nasty looking tacky far too much color thing out for her to wear to her brother's house. She was definitely bringing something to change into for this thing was not adorning her body for very long.

Oh and of course Hawk had gone off and gotten the girlfriend she had heard his big mouth all over the house before he left. She nearly fell off her chair when she remembered his grand entrance into the dancing theater. One might think she was jealous no, not really. She just enjoyed tormenting Hawk.

She looked out at the pod she was going to take. Maybe she could just say it broke down. She smiled...yeah they'd come get you. She groaned. Grabbing the sweater she headed toward the pod, one day she wouldn't have to do this anymore.

She slipped and and began to drive, thinking about something else entirely.

Brad smirked as he pulled out a bottle of wine, “Trust there is one thing Hawk is good at and that is finding trouble and getting the attention. I know I had already said this but when he is here stay away from the mistletoe.”

“If the question of kids do come up I would suggest deflect the question to Samantha”, he carefully began to explain as he poured then some wine, “As she is not even with someone I’m sure it will distract from our situation to hers.”

“Speaking of family”, yes there was Hawk’s grand knock on the door and his swift entrance. “Yes Hawk we are back in the kitchen”, he called out to his younger brother whom was in a different room!

Hearing the voice of one Hawk Solo, it was time for the wine drinking to commence. Brad was opening the bottle and Delila wasted no time in pouring some -- for herself. After all, she had to get a head start now that the Solo clan was deciding to arrive. Awesomely tacky sweater in place, it was time to sit back and watch the show. It was always a show when the group got together.

"Happy Life Day Hawk. Who is the lady? Just going to drag her in and not introduce us?"

He set the presents down and gives Dell a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "That's Layla. You guys have met a her a few times." He tells them. He shakes Brad hand. Leave it to Dell to cause an awkward moment. She knew that Hawk has been dating Layla for a few months.

Layla knew that the Solo family were big on hugging each other. "Hi guys, thanks for inviting me." She hugs Dell then Brad. She outfit jingling when she moved. "Your house is so beautiful." She gushes.

She walks to the house. The front door was left open. She walks in and closes it behind. She could hear voices coming from the kitchen. She set her present down in front of the tree then goes into the kitchen.

"Happy Life Day!" Her sweater twinkles with the lights. She hugs Brad. "It that your ugly sweater? Next year I'm picking out for you. He looks like a model." She teases Brad.

She hugs Dells. "The tree looks wonderful, I love your sweater." She thought that maybe Dells had gained a few pounds. Baby weight? She would have to ask later.

She turns around to face Hawk. "You weren't raised in a barn. Learn to close door behind you." She says playful to her youngest son. She gives him a hug. "I saw your performance of the Swan Lake. It was breath taking." She says to both Hawk and Layla.

"Hi Layla. It is good to see you again." She gives her a hug. "Such a cute sweater." Sabrina says. "I love the bells." She hoped that the jingling wouldn't get on her nerves.

Sam pulled up in front of the house, oh she wasn't into this today not really party or not. Another round of the Solo debate team would soon be in session. She looked down to the sweater, I hate sweaters it reminds me of that thing the boys write in the girls books at the end of the year. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, to wear a sweater you need a bust.

Gritting her teeth and trying her best to smile and endure she got out, and slipped into the sweater, she could see she was last to arrive. GREAT! Maybe they started without me. She knocked on the door and then just went in, she could see Hawk with Layla. Good grief everyone knew what he wanted her for the sweater made it obvious.

She could see Dell and Brad sitting and well perhaps holding court, or trying to sink into the furniture. Wine was already flowing, she wanted a big glass.

"HELLO FAMILY!" She yelled raising her arms so everyone would look her way, "Happy LIfe Day!" Good goddess please let it be happy.

"So What's up?" She walked in nodding to Hawk, and Layla, then hugging her mother, looking over she went and sat on the arm of the couch near Brad, she gave him that has it started look?
