Uh-oh

Solare had just stopped running when the blaster bolt sank into the stone a few centimeters from her head. With a groan born of aching legs, exasperation, and partially fear, Solare started to run again, ducking to one side to avoid a stunner that had been aimed for her head. Why some of the cops were using stunners and some were using lethals, she had no blasted clue -

Poor choice of words, she reflected as another bolt screamed past -

as to why, but they were, and it was annoying. If she was younger - I'm too young to be saying that already, feth it - she would be able to escape down the alleys, but at five nine, she was as tall as some of the cops and taller than a few, and hiding would not work.

With fighting out the question, that left running like hell.

A shot rang out, shattering the still night air. "Another shootout?" Mit muttered, already sprinting towards the flashes of light.

Someone streaked passed the alleyway Mit was running down, three lethals and a stun shot followed, leaving the very particles in the air burnt to a crisp. A cop flew by still shooting. "Not today..." He muttered, and swung his rifle off his back.

The well placed bolt, discharged by the rifle, screeched through the air, and burnt a hole straight into the cops head. Whoever was running would no doubt have seen the cop fall.

Solare looked around as the copper hit the ground. "What the - oh." She finished the sentence lamely. Taking the assistance as a sign of a possible ally, Solare changed course and bolted towards him, throwing him a joking salute as she rushed past, skidding to a halt a few meters behind the man with the weapon.

Mit fired off another few shots down the alley, slowly backing towards the way he had come. "What the feth did you do to upset them?" he yelled, throwing caution to the wind, not that the cops would need to follow his voice, there was a steaming pile of, well, what used to be a cop, in front of them.

(Follow the discussion, we wont have to mention each other anymore ^^)

Solare couldn't help but grin at the man's question - and the memories it brought back to light. "How was I supposed to know that those particular crates were so karkin' important?" Solare shouted back, backing away with the man. "Thanks for the save, by the way."

"Anything marked 'Fragile, speak with owner' seems to be quite valuable dont you think?" Mit shouted, a grin on his face. "Any time."
"We should be good now." He said after throwing a thermal detonator at the group of cops.

Backing out of the ally He turned and finally got a look at the person he had helped. "So, who are you?"

Solare cackled in reply. "Indeed they do. They might as well write 'valuable' right on the crate." She replied easily.

When they were relatively out of danger, Solare turned to face her rescuer. "Name's Solare. What about you?" She asked, tilting her head slightly as she asked, swiping away a few strands of hair that decided now was a good time to get in her eyes.

"Mit." He said, slinging his rifle over his shoulder, with a grin he said, "Girl like you shouldn't be on the run from cops, especially ones using lethals."

"And yet," Solare quipped, "a girl like me is on the run from cops, particularly the ones using lethals." She shrugged. "Not the first time - although usually they use stunners, which is a pain since they're hard to dodge. Wonder what the hell was in those crates..."

"Doesnt matter now, they gave up." Mit said and gestured towards the craft flying overhead, and the last few cops walking away. "So, You live anywhere? Or am I going to have to pay for your housing." He said with a grin.

"Somewhere around here there's an alley with an old transport crate..." Solare started wryly. "Joking. I'll probably hole up on the roof of somewhere. Probably a canteen, they have decent stuff in the dumpster." She mused aloud. "Unless Lilac finds someplace better..."

"Lilac?" Mit asked, "Nevermind. We can talk later, lets get out of this street." He said, and started walking towards a diner that rested on the edge of a hill, not far away. "Order what you want, on me." He said as they stepped in.

"Friend of mine." Solare explained briefly. She grinned at the mention of food. "On you, huh?" She remarked. "Nicest thing anybody's done for me all year." Well, almost. She admitted, remembering Lilac.

On the menu, the mention of nerf sausage caught her eye. Solare was practically addicted to nerf, she loved it and sausage was the best. "Nerf sausage, please." She decided, glancing at Mit.

"You got it," Mit said, and signaled the waitress over. "Two of the Nerf sausage, and some tea, I don't care what kind frankly." He said with an impatient tone. He turned back to Solare, "Hope you're hungry."

When the food arrived, he slid both trays of food to the Woman, and poured tea for them both. "Eat up."

"Thanks." Solare said, and did so, wolfing down half of the first plate so quickly it's a wonder she didn't choke. She slowed down slightly as she finished the plate, and paused to take a drink of tea before starting on the second plate. For this one, she had slowed down again to almost normal speed.

"Very welcome... So, who is this Lilac?" He asked, sipping his tea as he watched Solare wolf down the food. "If you want more I'd be happy to pay..."

Solare shook her head and took another swallow of tea. "I'm good." She said, then switched the topic to Lilac. "Lilac's a - friend of mine. We look out for each other, help each other out." Solare didn't like telling people how close she and Lilac Rain really were, even if the warmth in her voice whenever she talked about her fellow Sarkhai all but gave it away. It could raise complications, even though people were generally pretty open minded, it still changed a few things, and that was just annoying.

Mit nodded, "If you dont want to say more, I wont ask." he said, the diner was silent for a moment, the only sounds were that of people eating. Mit sipped his tea and looked out one of the diners many windows, "So, I know your name, but thats about it. What do you do, who are you?" He asked, really not expecting an answer, or at least not a full one.

Solare took another drink of the tea. "I get by however I can. Redistribution, mostly. Sometimes scavenging...I'm just another piece of dirt on the sole of Sarkhai's huge karking boots."
