Secret Cinema will be showing the second instalment of George Lucas's original Star Wars trilogy, 1980's The Empire Strikes Back, this summer, from June 4 through to August.
While few details are currently known about the event, previous Secret Cinema screenings have seen ticket-holders immersed into the world of the film in question, encouraged to come dressed as their favourite characters and treated to impressive set recreations.
The company, founded by Fabien Riggall in 2007, aims to change the way in which people approach watching films, creating experiences that are more akin to interactive theatre than a night at the local multiplex.
Last year, Secret Cinema hit the news after the first few planned screenings of 'Back to the Future' had to be cancelled at the very last minute. Once the show was up and running, however, it received rave reviews for its recreation of a 1950s world.

As is usual with Secret Cinema events, the exact location of this summer's Star Wars screenings has not been revealed, although it has been confirmed that they will take place somewhere in London. While the company may have missed a trick by not scheduling the start of the event a month earlier – May 4 is traditionally known as "Star Wars Day" – the June weather is, at least, more likely to accommodate a series of outdoor events.
Tickets for Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back will be available from Wednesday, 18th March at 1pm.
