BIOGRAPHY
Ul-Tam-Ban was born on Tiss'sharl towards the end of the Dark Ages, and one of the first Tiss'sharl force-sensitives to be found by the reconstituted Jedi Order. He was subsequently raised on Coruscant, then varying other Jedi worlds through the Sith occupation of the Core. He excelled quickly in his studies of the Force, a path that led him with certainty towards the Consular school of Jedi thought.
He spent much of his young adult life travelling the galaxy as a wayseeker, devoted to the old peacekeeping ways of the Jedi. In his travels he met the devout future leader of the Ashlan Crusade, Pietro Demici. Both of their homes had suffered under the Sith Empire, and Ul was intrigued by the man's devotion to the Light Side and began attending underground services of the Ashlan faith himself. He felt as if the Jedi had failed in their sacred duties by allowing the Core to fall to the Sith and to Imperialism.
When Cedric Grayson assumed control of Coruscant, Ul ingratiated himself with the administration and became one of the most prominent non-human followers of the Ashlan religion. When Tiss'sharl was liberated by the Ashlan Crusade, Ul-Tam-Ban was installed as the head of the church on Tiss'sharl.
The government of ruthless oligarchs known as the Tiss'sharl League had been allied with the Sith Empire for many years, and though the crusade did its best efforts to weed out sympathizers from the ranks, the bureaucracy ran deep. Even though he is of their species, his life-long absence has branded him an outsider. While the populace welcomed the Ashlans with open arms, many converting to their saviors' religion, the upper levels of the League still resent the supposed outsider for his forward and dedicated approach to reforming their world in the Light of Ashla.
