When it became clear
Naedira Darcrath
would require the essence of Gerwald Lechner to act as an anchor to the world of the living, the wolf accepted it. He offered his memories and other attributes to fill the gaps her death had left behind. All seemed well, until one thing Gerwald had not accounted for manifested itself.Gerwald’s wolf had given Naedirea a she-wolf of her own.
The wolf attempted to tear itself free, wanting the woman to shift, though she could not. After helping Naedira gain control of the wolf enough to sate it for a time, Gerwald knew something needed to be done. In part he knew what the animal wanted, his wolf wanted the same. Perhaps an element, something which made him seem close at all times would help keep the danger of what would happen if the she-wolf’s essence did escape.
Yellow with a hint of red and orange, the colors of fire, painted the kyber crystal through. It was a color Gerwald had embraced as a Knight Obsidian and held significance as the color of the lightsaber he made for his ascension as Lord Commander. In a small way the color was his way of letting Naedira know he would have never reached his potential without her. It was not just her sacrifice which allowed him to thrive, but her belief in what she had seen in him.
The crystal would hang from a simple rope, the same which had kept the ring which Gerwald carried for nearly a decade. It was the same ring Naedira had been bound to for far too long. It was a statement of the lengths Gerwald would go to keep his promises to her. It was not typical of a Sith, but the relationship the two shared was anything but. His essence would keep her she-wolf from tearing through her when his missions kept him from her. He hoped it would help her learn to control it as well.
