Private Ulysses and the Siren

Location: Taris, Upper-City Cantina

After her business dealings had concluded, with the holopainting depicting an ancient sith battle being purchased at the auction for about seventeen million credits and properly loaded unto her ship. Velda had not left Taris immediately she had decided to see what the planet would have to offer, and it's not like she was in a rush to get back to Corellia. She could go back whenever she wanted.

And so of course it'd didn't take her long to find a suitable nightclub on the planet to spend her evening and find the best of trouble. Velda left the cool night air of Taris and into the hotter air of The Upper City Cantina of Taris and the beats of the bar band playing, and an array of dancing neon lights. Velda scanned the room, slowly walking past a few Pazaak tables as she made her way toward the bar, not paying any attention to the holographic dancers or other patrons. When she walked up to the bartender

The bartender regarded her for a few moments before asking.

"You need help with something or a drink?" The one thing the bartender knew is that she didn't seem the type to normally be in here. What he didn't know, is that Velda was used to even seedier establishments than this sneaking in them as a teen on Corellia. All the while talking to sketchy and suspect smugglers and being told yarns that were basically pirate and smuggler myths. Such as the Summa-verminoth of the Akkadese Maelstrom.

"I'll take a bottle of your most rare and most expensive drink."

The tender blinked at her for a moment not believing what he was hearing "...okay" he went to the back and came back with a bottle "It's yours for fifty thousand credits." Velda simply paid it and took the bottle. Looking for a decent table and that's when she spotted a man, sitting alone at a corner table. As she approached she could sense an aura of darkness surrounding him, he didn't seem to have anybody with him, so she would just ask. "Hi, would you like some company?"

Nursing a wounded ego.

Where would he go? What would he do? Who was he without his birthright? These questions and more plagued the mind of Duke Ulysses Galfridian. The most pressing question though was how the hell people got extra money when it wasn't automatically just in an account. How did one even get an account to put funds into?

The reality of a world where you didn't have your basic needs met was only just now starting to dawn on the nobleman. He had spent his last credits on the drink he was now slowly and cautiously sipping, all for fear of it being gone and then him having nothing at all to show for his former wealth.

He was mid stretch when a looming presence engulfed his lonely booth. The shadow over his consciousness arrived before the voice. Ulysses already felt cold, as a shiver ran up his spine.

"Hi, would you like some company?"

Casting a curious glance up towards the woman, Ulysses was taken aback immediately by not just her person but also by her aura. He knew that he was sensitive to the Force, but it had never been worked on. But he knew it was something Force related. She just had something about her that was more than just a short skirt and eyes that stole men's dreams.

"By all means."

He did not feel as though no was an option.

He slid out of his seat, offering her the choice as to where she would rest herself in the booth. It was then that he caught a glimpse of the bottle that she held. His eyes narrowed. That was more than just expensive. That was downright prohibitive for all but the ultra-wealthy. A scheme had already begun to hatch. Perhaps if he played his hand right, this woman would be his ticket out of the momentary hell of low finance, and back into the world to which he rightly belonged.

"Ulysses," he said, "and who...might you be?"

While she awaited his response, sweetly iridescent eyes delicately gazed upon his visage in the dimly lit booth. As he stretched, the light available teased the form of a well built man sitting there.

When he slipped out of the booth she had a much better look upon him. He did seem quite handsome from afar. And now that was very much confirmed. A thoughtful and luscious smirk came to her lips when he agreed to her company. And agreeing to her offer was of course, quite a delightful decision, and one laced with sweet decadence to come.

When he offered his name in introduction she did the same. "I'm Velda, and quite pleased to make your acquaintance."

Her gaze was a soft one to his response and then she slipped by him and stepped inside the booth and took her seat, giving him enough space to sit beside her, if he so chose to. Within all this, she had lost herself in her thoughts and had forgotten of the bottle she was holding momentarily. And for the first time, Velda had actually looked at the label, and elegantly presented the bottle to Ulysses "Cedrellian Red 784, very nice, indeed."

As she said that a droid came by, checking to see if they needed anything."Two flutes...." She said holding up two fingers to the droid, and the droid left them to become acquainted. Resting her chin in her hand and her elbow gently perched on the table she watched him as she asked. "So tell me about yourself? Are you local perhaps?" She had a feeling he was not. As they awaited the droid to return with their glasses.

Ulysses did indeed slide in next to Velda after she had taken her seat. His arm propped up against the back of the seat, not around her shoulder, but easily within position to comfortably do so should the moment so play out that way.

"Velda. My. I had thought a name not possible to match you for presence. But it certain comes close."

Taking the bottle into hand, he rolled it over his fingers a little and smiled. "It is a good vintage." It was. He had experience with it. He also knew he didn't need much of it tonight, if he were to keep his wits about him with a woman of Velda's means.

"Ah. No. No, not a local. At all. I am from a world not to far from here. I do not come here by choice, but necessity. However. That is far too long and boring of a story. What brings someone of your standing to an establishment such as this?"

It would not surprise him if she was a rich young woman looking to spice up her life with adventure in the less desirable parts of town. He had seen it before. However, he also noted that you could take the rich person out of their rich environment, but they never were quite at home in a lower class of habitat. Ulysses, himself, was one clear of example of this fact.

His eyes cast a glance up and down the figure of the woman to his side. "There are surely more safer ways to get your desired thrills."
