SPECIAL FEATURES

• Slugthrower Weapon: The weapon is a slugthrower. It fires steel slugs, which are resistant to being blocked or deflected by the force and by lightsabers. These slugs can also damage swords and other bladed weapons over time, and they have a chance of disrupting energy shields.

STRENGTHS

• High rate of fire. The UMAC can empty its magazine in a single turn, which is 6 seconds. The user can also choose between semi-auto and full-auto.
• Lightweight. The materials and ammunition are lightweight, and so is the gun overall. That means that you can carry extra weapons on you, in addition to the UMAC.
• Highly effective at personal and point-blank ranges. With very few exceptions, the UMAC riddles enemies with slugs,
• Can be quick-drawn from the hip by smooth-talking spacers who are in a pinch. With the UMAC, you will shoot first!
• Concealable. The UMAC can be concealed or hidden inside of a regular blaster pistol holster, for a big slugthrower surprise!

WEAKNESSES

• Destroyed and/or jammed by moderate kinetic impact. The UMAC is designed with legacy parts and materials, and so if it were struck by a weapon or by a damaging kinetic force, it won't work. You have to spend one post fixing the UMAC.
• Jammed by EMP effects. The cycler depends on a battery cell and if EMP is used, the UMAC is disabled for one post.
• Low accuracy overall. Although it is possible to hit enemies at medium range, you won't have a high chance of that. The best use of the UMAC is in personal ranges.
• High recoil. Even with the stock, the weapon has a tendency to move off-target. It's recommended to use two hands in full-auto mode.
• Low damage output and slug penetration. The rounds are in the third-smallest order possible. They are small, and could potentially be resisted by a bullet proof vest or by medium class armor. The rounds do not penetrate even durasteel.
• May not disrupt shields. Because the slugs are so small, it is possible that they may not penetrate energy shields as intended.

DESCRIPTION
The UMAC machine pistol is a "cracker" style slugthrower that is designed for up-close and personal duels. When shot in full automatic mode, it is designed to expend the slugs in its magazine as quickly as possible using a magnetic cycler component in the front of the pistol. The magazine can be emptied in six seconds, or expended slowly through semi-auto fire modes. Although it is an excellent weapon up-close, it lacks any accuracy at range. It is much heavier than a normal pistol or blaster pistol, and the rounds are in the third-smallest order possible. United Industrial created the UMAC as a personal defense option on spaceships, as the smaller caliber rounds would not harm station assets.
