The promenade was fairly busy this time a day, a lot of people simply enjoying the last of their day after some hard work. A cup of tea here, some caf and maybe a piece of cake to satisfy their hunger, before they would trundle back home for some family-time.

It was a pittoresque scenery to be sure.

In the midst of all of this two men were currently lounging as well, comfortable chairs, two cups of coffee steaming and scalded to perfection.

“How’s the coffee?” Khal would ask, leaning nonchalantly against his seat, his eyes wandering across the people that were enjoying their time. It was a good day, all things considered and for a moment Malvern was glad that they had picked this place for their meeting. A hard day of work should have be preceded by some refreshments.

With him was [member="Visegar Maere"], a simple employee of his company, but Khal believed that you needed to keep those ties strong too.

Can’t have the feet forget about the head and all that, can you?

"Fantastic, really. Truly." Since Khaleel had offered to pay, Visegar had ordered the most expensive beverage on the menu. It just so happened that the most expensive beverage on the menu was also the most caffeinated. Within moments of getting down to half-glass, the young Umbaran lad was shaking with energy he didn't know he had. The Force was insignificant compared to the power of good caff, he decided. "Probably one of the best I've had. Better than that, even. And I've had a lot of coffee. Do you have a lot of coffee? You look like you have a lot of coffee."

This was the first cup of coffee that Visegar had ever ingested in his entire life. They did not serve any in the establishments in his neighborhood on Umbara, nor did he try any during his brief stay on Coruscant. Since he was an Umbaran, the lie would normally have been easy to miss. But since now he looked as though he was enduring a megathrust earthquake (at which he was at the epicenter of), it was plain to see. Still shaking, Visegar brought the cup back up to his lips before continuing.

"Too good. Absolutely too good. I can't believe it's legal."

Visegar hoped they outlawed it somewhere. He could make a fortune smuggling the stuff.

Khal studied Visegar for a moment.

Was the man… high or maybe drunk? In the end he hadn’t really smelled like either of those things, so perhaps this was his first coffee ever. Which became increasingly more likely the more he tried to swear to him that he had a lot of coffee.

“Erm, yes?” Khal tried, giving him a polite smile. Before going back to studying the scenery around the place, at least until the man said something about the legal status of the drink.

“I am reasonably sure there is a planet somewhere where this is illegal.”

With a billion worlds all across the Galaxy it would have been strange if there wasn’t a world there where the drink was illegal. Highly unlikely, if you asked Khal at least.

“Are you sure you can handle the job?”

Visegar scoffed. Although, with the jitters, it looked more like a hiccup. Had there been anything left in his cup, he might have spilled it. But by now it was empty. The power of Caffeine flowed through him like the Force flowed through the Sith Emperor or someone of equal importance. "Handle the job? Of course I can handle the job. There's not a single job I can't handle, or my name isn't Visegar Maere."

There were many jobs Visegar couldn't handle. That much was evident by his work history. Virtually every job he had ever taken involved cutting losses in one way or another or a retreat. But Khaleel wouldn't know of that. It wasn't his business. Visegar had decided to turn over a new leaf, so his prior work history to this job was irrelevant. In fact, with all the energy from the caffeine, he could turn over several thousand new leaves if he wanted to. Hopefully it wouldn't be necessary. If this went over well, Visegar would have something on his resume to finally be proud of.

"And my name is Visegar Maere. But you already knew that." He set down the empty coffee cup, perhaps a little too loudly. "And now you also know that I can handle the job."

“Riiiight.”

Khaleel was already regretting the decision to take this specific individual on this job or perhaps he was regretting buying him coffee.

Could be both?

Could be both indeed, Khally.

“Alright, let’s go for a walk if you finished your caf.”

The Underlord himself would drink his up, then put some credits on the table - tipped just right too. Not enough to put attention on himself or to be considered a cheap skate, it was an important balance to make really.

"Of course, of course. I'll follow you." Visegar said, standing up hurriedly. "That's what you're paying me to do, obviously, so that's what I will do. Yes. After you. Sir."

Khaleel turned his back on Visegar to leave, giving the Umbaran just long enough to slide one of the credit chips his employer had meant as a tip off of the table and into his own pocket. It was mostly reflexive. Those who knew him would find it impressive he hadn't taken all of it. Truly a testament to the self-control his entry-level Sith training had given him. Generally speaking, if there was free money laying around in the open, Visegar took it without a second thought. He also took it if it wasn't in the open. That was why he had pick-pocketed two people on his way from the spaceport to this coffee shop.

Another tidy addition to his ill-gotten (and rather meager) gains secured in his pocket, Visegar departed the establishment to follow Khaleel to wherever it was they were going.
