Under the two suns

Tattooine

As much as she had wanted to leave here she was continually ending up back here. Did she feel safe here now? Or was it just the comfort of nowing that she was free of here. She walked along in her armor, black with slashes of orange. She looked at items and vendors shied away the mandalorian armor often made them think twice.

But what could she purchase today there were things but truth be told she was more hungry than in the mood for weapons. She could see ahead someone had what looked to be pastries. Her mouth watered at the thought. Standing before the vendor she smiled under her helmet, this should look great mandalorian buying donuts.

Matteus was on Tatooine, having a "vacation", so to speak. He was by himself, relaxing and taking in the beauty of the planet. Before he had joined his squad, he may have been found in a cantina, drinking his liver away. Or he would have been playing Pazaak, gambling all his money away. But Matteus had changed, making a commitment to stop drinking. He felt he needed to be more sharp and aware now, even when he wasn't on a mission.

He ventured out into the marketplace, looking for a quick bite to eat. He was quite fond of sweets, beelining his way to the pastry vendor. Matteus was fully covered by his armor, helmet and all. In a hurry for no reason, he accidentally bumped into [member="Arla Balor"] . He turned, apologizing for his stupidity. "Whoops, sorry." Once he had seen who he had bumped into, his eyes widened under his helmet. It was another Mandalorian, something Matteus wasn't used to seeing outside of his squad.

Arla looked over, "no problem" her synthesized voice responded. She looked over the armor she didn't recognize it so he was not someone form Mandalore. "Gar echoy'la? Vod" She tilted her head wondering who this was.

She nodded toward the vendor, and signaled how many she wanted. Now all she needed was a large cold glass of something to wash them down. But she waited for the one next to her to talk more, and to see if he answered her question.

Despite having learned Madoa not too long ago, he still struggled with it. He understood it fine but usually had a hard time saying something himself. He took a moment or two as she motioned at the vendor. He felt like he had some kind of block. All he could think of was a simple no. Matteus felt heavily embarrassed as he said the words. "Nayc. Vod."

Continuing the conversation in Basic, he tried to explain. "I uh... I'm taking a break, if you will." Matteus said. "It's not even a prolonged one.." He chuckled, ordering a pastry for himself. It was his entire reason for going there. And now he had to deal with another Mandalorian.

Arla nodded, "I understand needing a break sometimes just to unwind is the best thing." She picked up her donuts, "These are some of the best sugar rushes there are around, have you had them before?"

He wasn't familiar, but she didn't know everyone. A break, she replayed the response in her head war often created a need for a break. Her green eyes under her helmet studied him. Not looking for a flaw, she was just too curious.

"Have I had them before?" Matteus let out a bellowing laugh. After a moment of silence, he saw that she wasn't joking. "Yes. I have... many times." He often ate far too much, with sugary foods being near the top of his list. Luckily, his metabolism and his training were enough to keep him trim.

Matteus grabbed the pastry from the vendor, smiling under his helmet. Admiring it's beauty for a moment, his mouth watered at the thought of eating it. He shook out of his trance, turning his focus back to the woman he was talking to. "So.. I'm assuming you aren't here on business either.. what would bring you here?"
