Time Thief
Any Mother or Earthbound fans?
Well Tobyfox created the Halloween Mod for Earthbound (Gave it a play-through and damn, next level edgy) But Undertale is a different type of game.
Also Spoilers* You have been warned.
We can spout theories and thoughts across one another but I guess a question I want to know is this; Can Triple A gaming create a story as touching and deep and complex as Undertale?
But anywho, there are several moments through the game when I first played a few months back that I kept in my memory. Such as building friendships with Papyrus and Undyne, each had something quirky with them that just made them lovable. Papyrus' narcissistic speech but a heart of gold, great moments there and Undyne's fiery nature as she throws a spear at you because you must behave as a guest and accept her hospitality. But these were moments for me, alas there was one major sequence that almost made me not want to finish the game.
When you take the pacifist run on your first play-through you can't obtain the *True* Pacifist Ending until your next play through. So on my 1st run through it was when I was approaching the throne room. All the music, soothing and the story being told by the Monsters that pop up as you walk to the throne to confront Asgor. I just didn't want to finish it, I had no choice but to attack Asgor but with the knowledge that if I was to go home I would need to let the rest of the monsters continue to live in their exile underground.
The whole XP and Lv. thing was a bit of a shock when Sans explains it.
So how was/were/is play through of Undertale? Deserving of Game of the Year nominations? The 8-Bit gaming is still cool?
