Underworld Summit

Location: Gypsii's Pleasure Starship
Objective: Meet with Crime Lords

The Painted Lady landed on the rocky terrain blowing sand and dirt in every direction. Gypsii waltzed from the entrance of a spice mine and smiled wide. He boarded the ornate starship and asked his bartender for a drink. As he settled he checked his datapad. His quests would be arriving soon. Some of the most notorious crime lords across the galaxy would come to hear his proposal.

Gypsii had hit a ceiling as of late. He had more credits than he knew what to do with. He ran most of the spice production on kessel. His empire essentially ran itself, just as he had built it to, but he wanted more. No, needed more. He had his eyes set on a bigger prize. The kessel crown. The current emperor was nothing more than a flashy figurehead at this point. He did nothing for the planet except take bribes from the cartels to do exactly that, nothing. This planet was Gypsii's in all but title. As he thought and prepared to articulate his plan he opened a small silver container and pulled out some glitterstim. He wiped the substance from his mustache as he heard the ships door wooshing open.

If Devaronians were demons, Mr. Fey was a spectre of evil. The Kalzerian was tall, looming over the humans at the summit. His thin build and bright yellow eyes gave him a serpentine appearance. He held his hands clasped together at the front. His skin was grey and leather-like. When he smiled at Gypsii it revealed a row of dagger-pointed black teeth and a slithering grey tongue. He was the representative sent on behalf of the Red Raven Syndicate. Among a flock of Ravens, he was a snake.

He was the first to appear before Gypsii and the other representatives. He greeted the minor crime lord with only the slightest bow of his head, "I am Mr. Fey, I shall represent the Red Raven Syndicate at this summit. Unfortunately Mr. Rigger cannot be here to represent his people as he is busy in the Outer Rim. He sends his deepest apologies." He lied through his teeth. In truth Lysle was not busy with business in the Outer Rim, he didn't show up because he didn't know who Gypsii and his cartel were, of course they had appeared on his radar as a minor blip but nothing more.

So he had sent some minor Syndicate affiliate to represent the Ravens. Gauge who the Osiris were and attempt to manipulate them if at all possible. Mr. Fey was the perfect man for the job. As a Shadownet Broker he had dealt with underworld criminals for over two decades. His eyes darted here and there, surveying the vessel.

Mingled among the other representatives stood a broad shouldered Green Nikto in body armor emblazoned with the head of a one-eyed Krayt dragon, the symbol of the Bareesh Kajidic. Dino, as such was his name, tried to cross his arms over his chest. He didn’t get far due to the armor, though he liked to pretend it was because he had been upping the grav level at the gym.

His stoic and leathery features betrayed nothing as he watched others arrive, particularly this debonaire human @Gypsii. The Red Ravens rep, a real creep, greeted him first. Dino hocced a wad of phlegm noisily.

A probe droid entered, passively scanning the area around it. It made the customary buzzing sound as it floated past Dino and Mr. Fey. Whatever technician was remotely operating the droid would surely make note that the Red Ravens were back in business, sending out representatives even to decidedly low-profile events such as this one. Seeing a Bareesh Kajidic wasn't terribly surprising. Gorba did not have much else to do. Times were quiet in the Cabal. Almost too quiet. Maybe boring was a better word. The Coratanni would probably show up too, if only to make sure the Kajidic and the two Syndicates weren't getting in on anything good without them.

The probe droid wordlessly set itself down on the nearest chair, and abruptly began projecting a holo-image. It was one of those fancy holograms, opaque and full color. The Kalleran flickered into existence, sitting perfectly on the chair, just as it finished taking a draw of a large cigar. Instead of exhaling the through his mouth, Lienar expelled it through his gills. Smoke appeared rather mysteriously from an obscure patch of skin behind his jaw.

"This is Director Lienar Lok-Sabha, Helix Syndicate," he announced, dabbing ash off of his cigar. It vanished from sight as it fell, not within the range of the image capture. "I'm listening."

Word was that Lienar had come to his current position in the Syndicate by selling out the Strategic Intelligence Service. Dozens of agents were dead as a result of his duplicity. If this was really true, then he was certainly at home in his new line of employment... And among a similar caliber of scum here.

Djonas felt it was about time to move back into the public spotlight. He would need to mingle with others in his line of work in order to gain some standing throughout the galaxy. He didn't feel sending a messenger was enough of a representation of him and his people. He had to go there himself. Besides, the best way to get a job done is to do it yourself. So, he came alone, but not unprepared. A HG-54 rested in a holster at Djonas' hip, his preferred sidearm in close encounters such as this one.

He entered the ship, noticing how he did not recognize anyone, and made his way to the bar.

Two tall lithe women swept into the room, their hair bright colors, their faces tattooed, and their clothes flowing.

The twin's stared at everyone in the room, smiling at some, frowning at others, but saying nothing save for the judgments on their face. After a few moments the girls ceased their lingering, and instead began to wander around the room. For a time they prowled in silence, until finally they seemed to find a place they would like. Their heels made a set of final clacks as they came to a stop, eyes and skull like faces shifting to look towards the center of the room.

Neither of them seemed particularly enthused about being there.

John Ash

Only by Fire do we become Ash.
A meeting of various criminal groups had been called out of the blue by this [member="Gypsii"] guy. It didn't have much information to work with, but it got John's attention. Anything that could potentially lead to a profit. So John decided to show up to represent the Ashhearth Association to find out what this was all about.

Wearing his armor with a pistol on each of his hips and a belt full of equipment, John walked into the ship alone. The chances of a fight breaking out were low but still possible. Criminals. They didn't always think things through all the way. The ones who did though were scary. It was the kind of scary he was hoping to find at this little meet up. He just walked in, got a feel for the place, and then find a spot to wait with his back to a wall. Seemed no one was too particularly happy or excited to be here. Great start to any event. Hopefully it would change, but that was to be seen.

Gypsii clapped his hands together and the music ended abruptly. "Welcome friends, I am glad to see you all made it without trouble. I hope my ship meets the standards of the men and women that run the underworld." He said flatteringly, "Any of you that wish to stay a rotation for festivities after are welcome." His words were accompanied with an inviting smile. Every pause and syllable was stated perfectly almost as if practiced. When Gypsii spoke the room was his stage and he had equal air of mystery and confidence.

"Everyone in this room has one thing in common. We are all survivors. One day we looked at what the galaxy had to offer, and we wanted more. So we took it, but now is not the time for survival. We must stop living in fear my friends. No matter how large we go, how much we've built, these larger institutions of government could end us all with enough time. I propose we fix the problem. We need a true home where we can be free from this danger and protect ourselves. Relations between all the families, cartels, syndicates, and gangs has never been so peaceful. I propose we put our efforts together and take this planet. I plan on taking the crown and turning the entire planet into a true haven. Government endorsed operations, free and open spice trade, black market arms and tech sold in the light of day. There is a place for all of you on this world... provided you lend your support. Any who aid my efforts in taking Kessel will be rewarded with territory and the freedom to make it your own. The current Emperor is weak willed and a joke. We can make something great here. Any questions?" Gypsii's strange accent rolled off of the ears like a spice high. One couldn't place it with a specific people or world, but it felt familiar and warm.

There could never be too many safe havens for the Helix Syndicate to shack up if necessary. As for Kessel, however, they already owned a major share of the spice being filtered off world. Most of it was going to the Coratanni, but plenty of crates were finding their way elsewhere. The collapse of the Sovereignty had done little to impact production, although it did prompt some "Emperor" to come out of the woodwork. He did the usual Emperor-type things, demanding tribute and trying to levy taxes.

These were things the Syndicate was not interested in doing. Supporting [member="Gypsii"] in his move to depose the Emperor and install a more lenient government, however, was worth backing. He was such a nicely spoken fellow too. How could Lienar say no? He'd want to know what the long-term game plan was first, of course.

"How do you propose to rule the new Kessel? A council of your peers? Puppet government?" Lienar smiled, but it didn't seem sincere. "Install yourself as Emperor? How about this: what do you propose to do when the Republic Remnant comes steaming up the Pabol Sleheyron? Do you think they'll take kindly to our little slice of paradise? Be willing to... Negotiate?"

Djonas swiveled around in the bar stool took get an eye on the fella speaking out to all who had gathered. The man of the hour, he was. The one who managed to get all these cutthroats and crime lords together. For what purpose? Getting him the metaphorical crown of Kessel. Djonas had no desire to help this man despite all he promised him and the rest of the potential supporters.

He only came to hear what the man had to say, and he did. However, something kept him from leaving. He couldn't just yet. He had to hear what the rest would say before he'd throw his 2 credits in.

"You have a mind for this my friend, I like that. Your concerns are valid, but nevertheless have already been considered. Most governments are to busy with their wars to bother with Kessel, so long as we aren't making to many waves. Corruption already surrounds the kessel government, many will scarcely notice the difference. Of course there will always be the occasional zealot especially with so many various Jedi orders springing up now days. Before we attract large scale attention we will put money in the right pockets, make friends with some of the more 'open-minded' politicians, and quietly silence anyone making to much noise. If we succeed in doing this long enough to bring our forces together here it will be too much trouble taking the planet. I will instill myself as emperor with your help of course, only to legitimize this operation. Any important decisions will be made with a council of advisers. Any who help me may serve on the council or choose their own representative to send, does that satisfy everyone?"
