Private Unexpected Encounter

Artifact hunting. It wasn't something Zinayn usually did, but he was bored, and there were no bounty hunting contracts that appealed to him today, so here he was. In his shuttle. In orbit above Dathomir. It was a tragic place with a tragic history. Many slaughters had occurred, and much blood had been shed. But with death and destruction came ruins and items left behind. Maybe Zinayn could become an artifact hunter when he grew too old to fight. That career could certainly be very profitable.

The Chiss flicked a switch above his head, and began to lower into atmosphere. Already, he could hear the cries of dead Nightsisters and Nightbrothers. Creepy. Hopefully no zombies rose from the red sands and ambushed him. That would be quite scary indeed.

Swooping down underneath the cloud layer, he saw...a vast expanse of sand. But that view soon transformed. Stone rubble was strewn out in a large area. Fallen pillars seemed to guard the inside of the ruins, where there were broken statues and the remains of several walls. The perfect place to find artifacts. Zinayn set his shuttle down outside the wall of pillars and exited quickly. A grin spread across his hooded face and his steps became faster. Of course, he didn't expect to find a Holocron or tome or something immediately, but with time, something had to pop up.

But he didn't expect to find a man already inside.

Haunted by the memories of years gone by, he had been meditating in ruins at the central point of a structure long eroded to time, in deep provoking thoughts, dwelling in the darkness that had swallowed his life all those years ago. He had felt such a strong pull in the Force, something called him here, and he had every intention of finding out what that something was.

Zhudain could hear flickers of the past, brief sounds and images.. the roar of a blazing fire, darkness illuminated by red blaster fire, and the feelings of pure terror. His brow furrowed, and his eyes shut even harder as he could hear a voice, a voice lost to time and memory..but cemented here by the Force.. "HIDE THEM!" A woman's voice..filled with fear. The visions flickered in and out for a time, indiscernible and violent. Zhudain felt the Force's presence grow stronger here by the moment, a feeling of vastness, like looking down into a well that never ended and the more you looked down, the harder it was to look back up.

The vision suddenly became clear, and frighteningly fast to the point where he could barely make out what he was seeing. Darkness suddenly lit up by lightning in the sky, a limp body being dragged by a dark cloaked figure, several booted feet marching through the sand.. he could hear it. The marching.. the sound of dozens of feet stomping the ground all at once, it grew louder and louder until it was a crescendo in his ears... then... silence.

Zhudain opened his eyes immediately. He wasn't alone. He stood up and turned, he saw the hood and cloak with his one good eye.. he said nothing as he stalked towards the stranger with slow and deliberate steps, and with a move of his hand his lightsaber snapped quickly into his palm.
"Jedi." Zhudain said with a smoldering tone. Zhudain wondered if this had been the pull in the Force he had felt as he drew nearer to his quarry.

Zinayn hadn't moved an inch since he'd seen the stranger. But who knew? Maybe the man had been watching ever since the Chiss's shuttle had swooped down from the clouds. Then, a voice filled with hatred rang out.
"Sith, I presume?" Zinayn answered, his tone a little bit less hostile than the Sith's. He shed his white robes, revealing a tan tank top underneath, that did little to cover his athletic build. Removing his robes also revealed his lightsaber, a cylindrical silver tube with a very slight curve to it (to help him in duels). He didn't yet move for his lightsaber, as the Sith was still a dozen meters away, though slowly approaching. Zinayn would have enough time to react if and when the figure attacked.

"What brings you out to this place?" Zinayn asked casually, spreading out an arm to encompass the ruins. Perhaps this man was related to the Nightbrothers somehow? He would find out in time. If this man was talkative. The Chiss had a feeling he wasn't.

Zhudain said nothing as he closed the gap, his pace turning to a brisk sprint as he ignited his blade. His one good eye seething with a silent contempt. Once he closed the distance, within about 5 feet of the Chiss, he readied himself into a combat stance while approaching. His left foot forward, with his shoulders centered towards his foe. He held a vertical guard as he closed the distance, suddenly striking out with a downward blow towards this.. "jedi" who dared stand before him. He hoped to use his size to his advantage in this move, hoping to plow through the defenses of his foe with his strength.

"Face me!" Zhudain said in a fierce tone as he swung his lightsaber towards his foe, his rather calm face suddenly becoming fierce.

Zinayn calmly watched his bulkier opponent approach, crimson lightsaber ignited. The Chiss didn't yet ignite his own lightsaber, as he would wait until the Sith attacked first. While the man assumed a fighting position, the Gray Jedi did the same. He spread his legs and bent his knees, making sure to stay on his toes. The Sith would strike fast and ha-

Zinayn didn't have time to finish the thought, as his opponent's lightsaber was already coming down on his head. The Chiss spun to his right, grounded himself, and kicked the ground. A large clump of red sand sprayed towards the Sith's face.

The Chiss knew he couldn't beat his enemy with raw strength alone. So he'd have to play a little dirty.
