SPECIAL FEATURES

• Slugthrower Weapon: The weapon is a slugthrower. It fires steel slugs, which are resistant to being blocked or deflected by the force and by lightsabers. These slugs can also damage swords and other bladed weapons over time. These slugs are powerful, and they are likely to disrupt energy shields.

STRENGTHS

• High damage output. The Mulligan is capable of doing a lot of damage with either slug cartridges or scatter pellets.
• Effective at medium, personal, and close ranges. The scatter pellets create a wide arc, while the scatter cartridge rounds have decent accuracy at medium range.
• High recoil. The Mulligan shotgun kicks like a mule.
• Highly penetrative ability. This weapon can penetrate up to medium armor.
• Double-tap on slug cartridge shots. The slugthrower fires the slug, and the railthrower fires the empty shell.
• Modular ammo holder. Can be adjusted to hold other calibers of shotgun rounds as well as other types of ammo.
• Mildly lightsaber resistant rifle butt. The butt is made out of Beskar to hold the railthrower, so it can sustain some damage.

WEAKNESSES

• Low rate of fire. The Mulligan's operator has to cock the scattergun back after each shot.
• Heavy. The Mulligan is an assault weapon and so it is heavy, not leaving the soldier room to carry much else.
• No double tap for scatter pellets. The Mulligan cannot be fired twice if it has been loaded with scatter pellets.
• Must be carried with a sling or a similar carrying method.
• Must carry additional shotgun moon clips on their battle belt, OR they must take a full turn to load the shotgun once it is empty.
• Jammed by EMP effects. The cycler depends on a battery cell and if EMP is used, the ammunition amount available in the Mulligan is halved.
• Low accuracy at range. The Mulligan is accurate, but it isn't a rifle, and it definitely isn't a sniper.
• Snaps in half when in a radiation area. United Industrial deeply regrets that your rifle broke in half while your ship's patrol was crossing close to the reactor core, but we can't be responsible if you didn't read the warranty, the part where it says: "Keep away from radiation".

DESCRIPTION
This shotgun is designed to be used by infantry shock troopers and heavy assault teams. The "Mulligan" fires the slug through the round, and then - instead of ejecting the cartridge - the shotgun cycles into a rail rifle, which fires the cartridge through the barrel too. This does not work with scatter rounds, but works great with the slug cartridges. The story goes that the UI engineers told their bosses that it was a regular shotgun when they took it to the range. They purposely missed and then, without cycling the cartridge, they shot another round through the rail rifle and yelled "Mulligan!". This is how the UI Mulligan got funded by the corporate sector.
