Until blood runs out (OS Attack on Thyferra)

Corey's OOC

And where were the spiders
Oppurtune moments.

The concept that there was a time and place for everything. And that sometimes worked, aside from when it came to the Galactic Alliance. There were times and places for everything in the galaxy aside from the Alliance. They were out, spreading their talk of freedom and choice and security, but what were they doing? Spreading chaos, working to remove order from the galaxy. Giving everyone a choice.

How was that a smart move? It wasn’t.

So that brought us to the place where this is happening.

Thyferra.

Bacta capital of the universe and a recent prize to the Galactic Alliance of Super Goodness.

It was disgusting, the whole thing. What the Alliance stood for, who they had on their side and their reasons for being. It was just as bad as the Republic, worse, even. A rebranded Republic. Working to give people peace without any law and order. No Senate? How was that even possible.

A waste of space, and real estate.

But that was a digression. What the focus was, was a Sith Star Destroyer and partnering vessels entering the system and launching all manner of weapons of war, and landing craft.

The focus was also the fires on the ground, where a Sith stood above bodies, looking at the fire. The factory-plant was aflame. The ships should be arriving. Holding the head, still runny, sinew and vertebrae attached, of one of the workers, Lucas let a small grin cross his face. Taking the skull up for a closer glance, he tipped his head and dug a finger in behind the eye, and pop, out it came.

Organics were an interesting thing. Before him other bodies had similar treatments, cuts and burns from a clearly insane individual. But Lucas was able to cause a lot of a stir very quickly. Perhaps why he had been selected for this type of mission.

Sometimes Trin felt like it was a miracle that she was still alive. Sometimes she thought that maybe she wasn't. It was conceivable that in reality, Lucas had finally killed her, and she was just a ghost, haunting him. Would it even matter if she were? He treated her like one. Here they were on some other horrible planet, feeding his eternal hunger to destroy the galaxy and everyone in it, and he'd barely said two words to her.

Lucas wasn't exactly a people person.

The half Anzat was here to support her brother, commit some murder, and find some food. The pleasures of the damned. She heard a wet pop. Looks like Lucas found a fun thing to do.

Stepping over the bodies with her pointy-toed boots, the other Gravois twin began firing some stragglers who were still evacuating. Head shot. Boom.

She'd leave the disemboweling to her brother.

[member="Lucas Gravois"]

[member="Lucas Gravois"] [member="Trin Gravois"]

That was like, totally disgusting. Alliance channels were BUZZING. The young Starchaser didn't want to believe the reports. She hardly could until her boots hit the ground. Blue-eyes peered between the smoky haze and blazing fire.

Sith just needed to like, chill. Did Sage do chit like this? He never had with her and she'd like to think if he had, she would've been able to snap out of whatever dream he'd had her in.

"Prepare for the strafing run," she spoke lowly into her comm, eyes still on the two targets from an arrow-shot away. She crouched on the roof of the building. The wind could shift and send the flames into her location. Probably only a matter of time. But she had a clear shot and she was gonna take it. Scope adjusted away from the booted girl to the disemboweling gross-face.

Finger squeezed down on the trigger as she sent a trio of ionized bolts to his chest.

"Take that mother-karker."

Objective: Repel the Sith

In some matters, the galaxy had a long, long memory. In others however, the galaxy's recollection faltered. After all Thyferra had been one of the core founding worlds of the Protectorate and had laid well within the heart of the vigilant goverment. Even if the Protectorate itself had fallen, there were still some things of it that remained, secret things that Ayden had kept to himself. It was one of these secret things that allowed him to know where this small Sith strike team was moving. Some things continued to pay off, thought not all necessarily for the Corellian. In this case, someone else would profit from his farsightedness.

When the Sith fleet arrived in-system, they were fortunate enough to have had enough time to launch assault craft before the surprise came. A frigate dropped out of hyperspace and immediate began engaging the small craft. It moved faster than most frigates and with precise agility. Heavy autoblasters fired nonstop as the ship sped through the Sith support craft. Heavy quad laser cannons slid out from hidden panels and fired on the hardier targets. Great eruptions of blue blasted out from under the bow of the ship; heavy energy torpedoes streaking out to hit the smallest support vessels for the Sith Star Destroyer. Despite its daring, it did not engage in the Star Destroyer directly yet.

Ayden sat at the pilot's chair, crash-webbing keeping him firmly planted in the seat, while the ship's AI handled all the weapons. He keyed into the defense channels of the planet, figuring they hadn't really changed even after the collapse of the Protectorate. After all, a secure channel was a secure channel. He'd listen in to any chatter from the planet, or start searching the bands until he hit them. If he was going to help out, he needed to be in-the-know with whoever was defending the planet. He had some theories on what group might be on the planet, having spoken with the Prex of OmegaPyre, but he did not have any definitive intel just yet. Perhaps that would change after this battle was over.

And where were the spiders
And he was humming. Lucas liked to hum when he worked. It reminded him that there were people, like the owner of the head he was holding, or dropping now, whatever, that couldn’t hum any more. The head hit the ground with a nearly hollow thud, that kind of thud only organic tissue and bone could make, and hollow because, well, as he was holding it, bits were falling from it.

Was funny to him, how some races and groups didn’t care about the gray matter. How wrong they were, and how fragile it was. Kind of smelled a bit odd too. Like decay and wasted potential. Or that was because the head was away from the body when he was smelling it, nearly every time.

Nearly.

Lucas liked to know how things worked. How people worked.

The bolts were coming and Lucas was aware, he was waiting, and for at the last moment a lightsaber ignited, batting the bolts away. Lucas knew where they were coming from, and that was the direction he was going. The fire would keep burning.

The Star Destroyer would start raining hell down if that didn’t change soon.

Objective: You Know What Time It Is...

Death was never something that Caid ever really wanted to see. Even when he dispatched enemies, the feeling was always bittersweet. The dark-skinned Dathomir native did value life and the right to each lifeforms choice over its own direction. However, his overriding loyalty was to the greater good. There were differences between fighting for the greater good at all costs...and fighting for an ideal, a concept that one could always do the 'humane' thing. Caid was not the latter.

Still...nor was he his father and the circumstances that had shaped the man into what he now was. He'd heard the stories, read the accounts of his father's actions from days past and present. He would pay for his actions as they all would...but it was a definitive one-step-at-a-time type of struggle.

The moment Kinsey took her shot at one of the Sith, Caid utilized the brief distraction to dart from his current position of cover to the next available position. So long as the woman fired, he would close the distance.

Objective: SAVE THE BACTA!

The medbay was booming with the wounded and more than usual, Factory work was dangerous but was it this dangerous? Burn victims came in by the twos and threes! The Karkarodon remained as calm as he could to redirect all the wounded and help the other nurses and doctors. " Doctor Zalec! He going critical!" a nurse said rushing a worker into another room. Slamming his fist into his open finny hand, there was so much going on. " I'll be there in a sec! Rotate the patients! Each morsel here gets 10 minutes in the tanks. No more no less! And dont burn through all the pain killers, those who are in dire need can get them." The man shark flailed his arms and he gave orders.

" I refuse to fuel someones drug addiction in a time of chaos..."

Many of the wounded looked more concerned for their health then ever. Just picture a Karkarodon and a Doctor mixed together... Do you see it? Yeah. I think you see why the wounded were terrified.

Damian was in the middle of… business, yes let's say business, when suddenly the chaos came. One moment he was arranging for a Bacta shipment, and the next boom crash slice and tear! Overall the situation was… unacceptable. While many ran and fled in terror Damian took a deep breath and gripped his curve hilted lightsaber tightly in one hand with his trusted ion blaster firm in the other.

He didn’t rush. No one ever said impatience was a vice, but patients was a virtue so he moved with purpose keeping to the shadows like his grandfather had taught him, shrinking his force signature like [member="Kana Truden"] taught him. Finding his center, two inches below the rib cage and three above the naval…. He never did get that.

As he approached he crouched on his knees lowering his profile and attempting to come in under the line of sight of the enemy. He spotted two of them, taking vicious pleasure in the murders they were committing. Damian may not always be on the side of angels, but there was a line and it was being crossed.

Placing his pistol in his holster for a brief moment he considered his next move wisely. Fumbling his hand reached into a pouch on his belt and felt his old friend… molding explosives. A smile formed on his face when he remembered the time he blew [member="Darth Vornskr"] up.

He set the charge on the ground and continued, detonator in hand, around the periphery of the factory where the murder was occurring. As he approached an oblique angle from the original position he set the timed detonation and watched as the explosion created a cacophony of sound and polluted the area with dazzling lights. With luck the blast would have drawn their attention away from him giving him an element of surprise and disorientating them in the process.

Damian bounced. Ion blaster firing at the closest target, the girl, as he ignited his saber and charged headlong at the nearest opponent… the woman. Why were all the pretty ones insane and evil?

Trin laughed as her victim fell. Sure it was a waste of grey matter, but more importantly, it was highly entertaining, kind of like a pratfall, only with much more blood. Trin was the most like Lucas when she killed, her gaze cold and determined, focused only on the task of ending something's life. That's what happened when you were born bred to be a murder machine in some strange laboratory somewhere. Along the way, Trin had developed an unhealthy fixation on her brother, too. Force only knew what that was about. She figured that maybe her creators had a sick sense of humor.

A blaster shot soared through the air at Lucas, who parried them with his red blade. Trin went into attack dog mode, sniffing the air for his assailant. She felt various Force auras closing in around them. The Jedi who ran this forsaken chemical dump of a planet must have been alerted to the attack. The ground rocked as an explosion tore through duracrete a few shakes from the factory itself. Trin crouched and whirled her head in the direction of the blast.

That was when the shot came. The ion blaster bolt grazed her shoulder, painfully shocking her skin. She howled like a wounded animal. Knowing that Lucas wouldn't fething care, she grabbed for her lightsaber hilt just in time to meet the blonde Jedi's blow. Sparks flew as their lightsabers clashed. Baring her teeth, Trin disengaged her saber and thrust it forward, using the Force Speed power to direct her strike to his midsection, hopefully faster than he could parry.

"Ass-hat," she growled. The sith, murderer, psycho person was good. She caught a flash of movement through her scope. Near the murderer dude. Must be another alliance member. Adjusting the rifle, she fired another volley of shots at the ass-hat, toward the pavemeant at his feet. She was trying to herd him and keep his attention away from the approach of Caid. The sith was getting closer now. She would be able to see his face without the scope. The scope only intensified the guts and blood on his fingers.

Gross.

A small explosion interrupted her line of vision from below. Near the woman she saw shooting people earlier. Shouldering the rifle, hands gripped the comm to the Allaince channel. There was a good chance [member="Ayden Cater"] would intercept if he knew the codes.

"Hold the strafing run. We've got too many friendlies on ground. I repeat, hold the run. I've got eyes on two sith and some ground troops. We need help putting out these fires around the bacta if you can get through their lines. Transmitting coordinates, now. Over."

If the call went through, she would head down into the fray, her attention focused on Lucas.

While Thyferra manufactured the popular medicine that had actually healed Darth Azurea on many occasions, it wouldn't escape the Sith's choking grip. She and Knight Mullarus found themselves outside of a Bacta factory on an assignment to terrorize and raid it, taking as much valuable Bacta as they could and burning the factory afterwards. While it wasn't full scale annihilation, these small, tactical strikes sent a message to the Alliance: The Republic was toppling like a giant behemoth statue cut off at the knees. The Alliance, it's more nimble little sister, was next.

Fighting alongside of Krux was both strange and familiar. Familiar because she was often partnered with the Sith Knight on various occasions as they both shared the same Master. But unusual because she was now his lover. This wasn't widespread knowledge, of course. Though his apprentices may have suspected such a union, more because the Sith Lord had been hanging around Krux's flagship, no one else knew and Azurea intended to keep it this way for as long as possible. Until she was able to safely give birth to the child she was carrying and rearrange her living plans.

But even secrets could not stop the Sith from jumping into the boiling fray of battle. Today, Darth Azurea carried two lightsabers, which was better for Makashi which she favored as a fighting style. Turning to Krux, she said, "Apparently, there are some Jedi holed up in the factory that we intend to level today." She yanked her hood up over her head, beginning to channel the anger and white, hot rage that would fuel her attacks. The Sith Lord only wore robes today, no overprotective armor. After all, she had assassinated the Suarbi 7 President wearing a Jedi disguise with not a stitch of armor on her shapely form.

Mullarus was not a fan of letting Darth Azurea go with him on a raid against the Sith Empire's newest foe, The Galactic Alliance. With the condition she was in, he felt even more concerned for her well-being than he normally did. Mullarus arrived on Thyferra today in his armor, unlike Azurea, who wore only robes, another detail that made the Knight nervous for his new, apparently secret lover. He didn't like it, but she was stubborn, and as much as he loved how stubborn she was, he also loved it about her. "What kind of Jedi? Students, or Masters?" He pulled the hood of his cloak over his head as well, refraining from activating the built-in helmet for now.

He was cautious, looking around as if they might be seen any moment. Mullarus took his lightsaber in his hand, a finger hovering over the ignition button. He wasn't sure what to expect today, besides Jedi, but just as not every Sith is a cut-out copy of one another, Jedi had their own different colors as well. It had been a while since Mullarus met a Jedi he wanted desperately to slay...

The occasion? A new dress! A new slinky, black dress!

It was sent over in a care package by the 'Man on Top', or her secret secret supervisor. It was made out of this fru fru new fabric called Spidersilk Elaxtex -- and ohhh did it ever do wonders for her bottom!!

I like this dress!

She was practically giddy with glee! So much so that she didn't notice the random commotion going on outside with the would be attackers.

At least until the klaxons started ringing and all the Nine Hells broke lose.

He had his saber glowing, there was a sniper, and he knew where they were. The Sith was heading in that direction and there would be that air of unease around him, that would be sent through anyone who looked at him that didn’t have some way to block it. Just a mentalist’s nightmare. He wanted to make an example of the person with the rifle. The Sith had sat on their asses too long, allowing the Alliance to humiliate them at every turn.

It was frankly disgusting.

They were Sith for Vader’s sake. Act it.

He muttered and shook his head. Speaking a bit more clearly, clipped, exact, matter-of-factly, “That one’s mine.” The person with the rifle. That would be the newest death to his ever growing list. And with a shot like that? The eyes must be worth something on some market.

In recent days Thanith had been getting copied on more reports than he could possibly keep track of. Somewhere along the way even as a LTCMDR he had ended up on the Navy Command access roster. It was one message in particular that made it past his aide and to his desk. A Flash message about an assault on Thyferra. While he recognized the need for Bacta he cared less about acquiring any. Instead he ordered the Task Force to Thyferra to commit harassing attacks on the planet while Sith forces assaulted the factory.

Just minutes behind the first wave Task Force Phoenix emerged from Hyperspace in orbit around the planet. Thanith stood on the bridge of the Vanguard. As soon as the exited Hyper Thanith started giving out instructions.

"LT launch all fighters and dropships...........have the Torment launch all Fighters and Bombers." "Execute Target packages Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie."

He paused with a small smile.

"Time to bring the rain."

Thanith took a deep breath waiting for the usual all heck to break loose. He figured he had about 5 minutes before they were engaged by orbital defenses or an opposing Fleet to complicated things.

"Ensign charge the main guns. I want them ready encase we get engaged."

While not his first choice, Tiland recognized the value and importance of bacta, especially as a healer. He even held it as important enough to spend a good deal of his credits to creating and accumulating a stash to carry with him on his travels. He made regular stops to Thyferra to pick up his shipment and keep abreast of the latest technologies and techniques for utilizing it. Unfortunately, this visit seemed to be poorly timed, as he appeared not to be only one to visit.

Dropships fell from the sky, some tumbling from anti-aircraft fire while fighter squadrons raced across the sky. Tiland took a deep breath of the thick humid air and adjusted his robes, pulling them tighter around his body beneath the blanket roll he wore tied around his shoulders, cook kit rattling about. He frowned at that. Could be dangerous, to have such things happening. Tiland reached up and tightened the cinch, pulling everything closer together.

Then he hefted his weatherbeaten staff and strode out of the small grove of trees, heading towards the sound of conflict. There would be wounded to tend to soon enough. Hopefully he would reach them in time.

To be fair, he wasn't exactly surprised. He'd been expecting something like this for months now, ever since he realized how the Alliance was spreading. It had brought them quickly to the attention of the One Sith, who'd chosen a tactical location to strike. Not the tip of the spear, but just below where the spearhead and the shaft connected. And the location was one better: it was a source of major medicine. They hadn't hit Fondor or Kiffu, they'd gone after Thyferra. Source of the vast majority of bacta in the galaxy and major waypoint between the Alliance's hub worlds and their newer acquisitions, including a large shipyard.

Luckily, Audren had been on his way back from Kiffu to Sanctum space - not a simple traversal on major hyperlanes - and had been planning on stopping at Thyferra anyways for both fuel and whatever bacta he could carry. Might as well be useful to the Coalition as well as the Alliance if he could.

While he hadn't worn the Vanguard armor on Kiffu, he had taken it, just in case. When he received the alert beacon, his ship was ten minutes out from the system. He didn't rush to get the armor on, but he did operate at a pace easily faster than 'relaxed'. He had the bodysuit on and was starting to put the plates on the second leg when the vessel dropped from hyperspace and he rushed to the cockpit. The Star Destroyer in orbit was easily visible, as were some of the support craft, but the sensors painted the HUD with increasing numbers of ships as well. The Sephi gave his droid - the more skilled pilot between the two of them - the objective: get to the atmosphere without the Sith forces attacking them, then close in on the hub of activity. He was no combat pilot, barely a pilot actually, and the ship he had was civilian-style. Really needed to upgrade that sometime.

The droid was reasonably successful, and by the time the ship was ground-side Audren was fully armed and armored. He left the ship parked at the fringes of a landing port and stole the first unoccupied speeder bike he found. There was no pedal, and no metal to put said theoretical pedal to, but he did push the bike for all it was worth. From there, he just followed his sense of the Force. Jedi and Sith were already clashing near a pillar of smoke, but there were some Sith off to the side as well, and unengaged Jedi. He headed that way.

There was nothing subtle about his approach. He used a parked luxury airspeeder as a ramp and jumped his speeder bike at two Sith before an apparent bacta factory. He didn't stay on the suddenly-depowered flying hunk of metal, lightly jumping up from the saddle and pulling both guns as he did. He fired from the hip with no time to aim: the carbine sprayed automatic blaster fire in as controlled a cone as he could manage, while the pistol fired a particle beam with each pull of the trigger. These were definitely Sith, he could sense the darkness that Alliance Jedi simply didn't have.

If left alone, the speeder would slam its nose into the ground at a slight angle, causing the control vanes to snap and pieces of the bike to shatter forward with inertia. It was flying without power or further guidance, under pure momentum. Were Audren lucky, he'd get at least one direct hit with something. He didn't expect it though. Never worked that way.

OOC: This is an attack on [member="Darth Azurea"] and [member="Knight Mullarus"]. At least one Jedi ally appreciated.

Objective: Protect and Destroy

Enemy: [member="Audren Sykes"]

As if on cue, before his question was even answered, the Knight heard something behind the two of them. Turning around, he saw a...speeder bike...flying through the air in their direction? Before he noticed somebody riding it, he nudged his partner and ushered her to look. "...Make a wish, darling" he whispered, grinning because he thought he was hilarious.

Then someone jumped off of the bike. Someone trained with the Force. Acrobatics like that weren't common in non-force-sensitives, though Mullarus supposed it could have been possible. As soon as the Knight saw a body hop off of the bike and reach for his belt, he ignited his lightsaber, the long, violet blade shimmering into existence out of the hilt, and the two smaller blades acting as the lightsaber's crossguard spitting out only a moment later.

Then, just as Mullarus feared, the man began to fire at them with skill and speed while still falling down from his bail from his bike. If anything, it was wicked cool. Too bad he was shooting at him and his lover. Mullarus acted quickly to begin raising his greatsword-sized lightsaber up and twirling it around in a close proximity to his body. Any Jedi or Sith with knowledge of Lightsaber Forms would recognize Form III being used to protect his body from the seemingly random, clumsy blaster fire.

But he thought too quickly on instinct. He forgot about Azurea! His focus shifted very slightly, making sure the acrobatic enemy's other blaster, firing projectiles that appeared to be focused beams instead of blaster bolts, didn't strike his armorless partner in crime. Unfortunately, he couldnt reach out to help her even if he tried. He hadn't acted quick enough. He knew she was a Sith Lord, and probably still more skilled than he, so she probably would have been perfectly fine. He hoped.

As the blaster-wielding opponent would land, Mullarus quickly attempted to reach out a hand and use the Force to Grip the blaster in the man's main hand and pull it out, but his concentration was broken when the nearly-forgotten speeder bike crashed into the ground nearby and sent debris flying. A particular piece, likely a piece of the saddle since it was more like being slapped by a rough pillow, flew directly into Mullarus' back, taking him by surprise. Instinctively, he whipped around and looked, accidentally leaving himself open for a brief moment as he glanced at the projectile that struck him from behind.

Today, for the first time, her unit - Echo would be working with the other units in the army in an operation against the wretched Sith. This both excited and scared Sofia. She was excited at the prospect of avenging the innocent who were mercilessly slain by the Sith but scared as this was her first encounter with the Sith in battle.

This was also the first time that she would work together with other snipers in a battle. It was exciting to be able to work with those with the same specialisation as her. Separated by a distance of 10 meters between each were snipers 6 snipers, including Sofia camouflaged and with their rifles ready.

Sofia watched from her location, hidden, as members of different units assembled to form a big army, prepared to fight the Sith that they may encounter while they awaited orders.

As the speeder bike roared overhead, Darth Azurea shifted close to her partner as he whispered into her ear. She squeezed his arm softly and said, "You know my wishes..." But there wasn't time to finish her sentence as a spray of blaster fire headed their way. Like Knight Mullarus, Azurea spun off in the other direction to protect herself. And since the both of them had been trained by the same Master, their movements together and apart had a similar choreography.

The Sith Lord threw up a Protection Bubble, to ward deflect the blaster fire and the particle beams which her lightsaber would not block. Parts of the speeder bike flew out from the impact with the ground, but those were also no match for the energy shield around Azurea. But due to her concentration, she could do nothing else but defend. For now.

Picking up the Jedi's Force signature, she sensed that he was not that strong. But he seemed to have quite a few fancy toys - the bike, blasters, an elaborate set of armor. She noticed that Knight Mullarus was attempting to pull one of the blasters out of his hand, so she allowed the Bubble to dissipate as soon as there was no more incoming fire and with telekinesis, she tried to pull the other blaster from the Jedi's grip.
