Update on the Invasion of Balmorra

The Galactic Republic declared invasion on the One Sith holding of Balmorra over two weeks prior to the One Sith's counter-invasion declaration at Contruum. Negotiations for Balmorra's terms are ongoing. However, we have a determinate launch date of October 14.

Not gonna lie, it's been difficult to get cooperation from the other faction. Please bear with us.

What I can promise you is that there will be a space/fleeting objective and duel PVP. I am doing my best to represent our faction's concerns and hopes for a fun and all-inclusive invasion thread.

I encourage the Republic players to all refrain from creating/using/responding to any OOC threads about the invasion. In my experience, these threads cause more harm than good. (Even the seemingly innocent GIFs can be condescending.) If you have RP issues, talk to the person you're writing with/against. If that doesn't work, see me or Varus. Only after the FAs have tried to resolve things will any reports be filed.

It's the One Sith, a faction apparently focused only on winning, winning, winning and complaining if you put up any kind of thought out and logical resistance that would otherwise stop them from winning.
If it were easy to get cooperation from them, they wouldn't be the One Sith.
In my own personal opinion, if they're aiming to take out half of the Republic Territory by invading Contruum, we should demand a similar situation and be invading Ord Mirit rather than Balmorra.

Is it to late to ask to invade Ord Mirit? If not then, well, that seems like the best course of action.
If it is to late, we might want to try to focus on fleeting (or at least get a good bunch of it in) for Balmorra. Ms. Alva tells me her friends are ready to fight the good 'ol space fight. In addition we could try to see if we can get the Mandos to hook our NFUs up with Ysalmirs. I'll be working on getting Ven here ready to rumble.
If people still think that she's as strong as they used to, then I might be able to kick some real ass in the PVP portion.

I'd have no qualms with fighting for Ord Mirit again. What does returning to it change, really? It's a whole new battle.

But there is strategy behind the invasion choice of Balmorra, I can promise you that.

As this character is new and just recently joined the Galactic Republic, and I had other things on my mind before fully focusing my attention on my characters, I had not known that the Republic had attempted an invasion of Ord Mirit.
However as said, it would be an entirely different battle; and I will point out that it was a personal opinion in suggesting action against that specific world. Just as voicing the opinion that it does not seem fair that the Sith are losing potentially one or two worlds with an Invasion compared to roughly half of the Republic Faction if they win at Contruum.

In the mean time I'll be over here with the Lieutenant trying to get some development and other threads for her going. My biggest fear is seeing the Republic fall when I've just joined it and committed to this character.

And that has everything to do with the faction's choice of where they want to invade, by which I mean the Republic opted to invade Balmorra instead of a planet that would cloudbreak, whereas the One Sith decided to go for the cloudbreak after not doing so since Kashyyk. We have just as much of an opportunity to search for a cloudbreak as they do, the faction decided to not do so.
