Using NPCs from a Major Faction

[member="Toshiro Kurojii"]

I can only speak for the Outer Rim Coalition (I'm one of the admins there), but we generally don't have a problem with writers using our unnamed faction NPCs as long as it's handled respectfully. Don't steamroll our people, portray them as unnecessarily dumb, or write them doing things they wouldn't (atrocities etc.), and we'll be fine. Well, apart from whatever IC consequences might happen - kill our unnamed NPCs and we'll probably drop some kind of a bounty on you.

Honestly, that can probably go for about 85% of the NPCs in the Codex.

I once attended a funeral for an NPC soldier. Bob Bobison Parker was a hero man.

But it's totally cool as long as your respectful.

If you are wanting to use named NPCs that have been submitted to the codex then you really need to get permission to use them.

Nameless goons and such are fine so long as mentioned above you are respectful and don't act out of character.
