ADVANCED SYSTEMS
- Oversize cargo holds - the bulk of the Usury-class is a series of massive cargo holds designed to transport seized credits, property and slaves. The cargo holds contain multiple tie-down points and movable bulkheads to allow any type of valuable cargo to be stored.
- Inventory management and valuation - an advanced onboard droid brain logs, tracks and evaluates all cargo being brought onto the ship. The system is programmed to identify valuable assets from thousands of different cultures, allowing Revenue Collection Authority officers to accurately calculate their cargo to ensure that its value exceeds that of the tax bill being paid.
- Internal security - armed guards patrol the hallways and cargo holds of the ship, ensuring that captured valuables find their way back to the SIBC cofferes and not into the hands of opportunistic thieves. Coded blastdoors, hundreds of surveillance droids and random identify checks ensure that Authority officers do not access unauthorised compartments.
STRENGTHS
- Spacious spaceship - the massive internal cargo hold, accessed by two oversized hanger bays, allow the Usury-class to transport massive amounts of captured credits and assets. A small number of ships can quicken drain the coffers of even the richest worlds.
- Armoured - given the valuables that the Treasury Ship is likely to be carrying, the Sith-Imperial Corps of Engineers spared no expense in protecting the ship from external threats. Military grade deflector shields over an up-armored hull provide excellent resistance against enemy weapons fire.
- Weakly armed - the Treasury Ships carry limited weaponry, designed only to take out low level pirates or defend the ship during retreat. Weapon placement is fairly consistent and balanced across the vessel, though the low powered nature of the weapons makes them unsuitable for taking out anything larger than a corvette.
- Gaping maw - the two massive cargo hold openings present a significant weakness. The cargo holds take up much of the ship's internal space, with limited bulkheads between the cargo hold and the outer hull. Any ordinance delivered into them could puncture the Treasury ship's hull from the inside-out.
- Accountant spacers - the Revenue Collection Authority officers who crew the Usury-class receive limited naval combat training. While they could hold their own against enemy forces long enough to program a hyperspace jump, they fare poorly in any ship-to-ship conflict against a trained naval force.
DESCRIPTION
The Ususy-class Treasury Ships were commissioned shortly after the establishment of the SIBC to transport huge amounts of credits, assets and valuables within Sith controlled space. The ships are regularly seen making deliveries to SIBC treasury facilities or heading out to newly captured worlds to raid them of valuables.
The arrival of a Usury-class vessel is an unwanted omen for worlds hoping to hold onto their material wealth. Upon taking up orbit over a planet, swarms of armed transport shuttles descend to the surface carrying armed Revenue Collection Authority officers. Throughout the collection operation the shuttles will return to orbit, unloading the collected revenue. Everything which comes aboard the ship is logged, appraised and carefully stored for transport to a secure SIBC treasury facility.
Treasury ships are generally only sent in once a system has been secured, and when operating in an active war zone they require escort from the Imperial Armada. The weapons loadout of the ship is not optimised for ship-to-ship combat, and is instead designed to deter piracy. The Revenue Collection Authority goes to great lengths to keep secret the planned routes of Treasury ships for fears they will be targeted for hijacking; to date only a handful have been successfully taken by the enemy, at great financial loss to the Empire.
