- Unwieldy: For most, the size and weight of the weapon makes it too unwieldy for use. In a way Alina uses this as a deterrent for thieves, for the weight matters little to her.
- Sith Sword: It does all things Sith Swords do. The obvious corruption of the Dark Side, the edge that will never dull or rust, the ability to absorb and unleash Force Lightning. In that, it's a classic.
- Sever Force: Alina's greatest power is her ability to remove the Force from her surroundings. Preventing it's influence on her, and others trapped close by. This blade embodies that power to it's peak. A being killed by this blade is cut from the Force. It doesn't matter to most, but for a Jedi this means denying the ability to become one with the Force. And for Sith, denying them any chance to move on to a new vessel or escape into the Nether and find a way to escape. Doesn't work on exceptionally powerful souls (Writer discretion).
- Lightsaber Edged: The peculiar design gives the weapon a red edge when the blade is ignited. Giving the superior cutting power of a lightsaber with the weighted blow of a Sith Sword. A good combination in some cases.
- Force Reliant: Ironically, the blade's trick in cutting people from the Force doesn't work if the Force isn't there. Force nullification such as Ysalimir and Void Stone suppress the ability.
- Dark Relic: It's still a Dark Sided weapon. Force Light can purge it, break it, and down right destroy it with enough time and effort.
- Cumbersome: It's a big weapon, and it's not easily hidden. Without the space to use it, it's more a hindrance. What's more, it's mean to perform executions, not combat.
Many Sith claw after immortality. Eternal life. Be it through body snatching, altering their own bodies, ripping through the fabric of reality, there are no limits to the personal greed of a Sith with the power to do so. Alina hated that. Always watching them sacrifice everything for that personal greed. With no way to stop it, all she could do was watch and seethe. Until she didn't have to any longer. Her lightsabers could carry her power to sever the Force, so what if she took that a step further?
Through Alchemy, she crafted the blade. Infused it with herself. Her hate, her anger, her sole desire to bring the Lords of the Sith to their knees in their hubris. And from it, a weapon perfect for that desire. For all who saw the blade, it was little more than a Sith Sword with a Lightsaber attachment. But for those slain, they'd find no after life. No soul stealing, no absorbing power. No being trapped in despair to one day break free. Just an end to everything they were, and everything they wanted to achieve.
