V1-A1 is an astromech pilot droid, a model from the galactic civil war era. He was acquired by Dano Dil from a droid mechanic on Nar Shaddaa after winning a hefty bet. He ordered a ship with his money, but he never learned to fly one. In the market for a pilot, he came a cross and old droid mechanic store that claimed they had an old astromech who could serve as his pilot. The droid claims that it flew for the Grand Republic fleet over a century before. Nobody can be certain of the claim's validity, but the store owners say that when they found the droid in and alley, that he was loaded with Republic hyper lane maps. He was restored to working condition and now serves as Dil's pilot.
