Muffled: The blaster comes with a barrel extension that when removed, it renders the weapon system unusable. However the extension will muffle the sound effects and reduce the light emission caused by the blaster bolts. This does NOT remove all sound and light effects of the weapon.
Small & Light: The weapon system as a whole is lightweight and relatively small compared to other blasters, the adjustable stock can be used however to improve weapon comfort.
Ammunition: The Power Cell allows up to 120 shots before needing replacing, this however is at the cost of high fire-rate and low-impact shots, aimed at disabling a target before killing them altogether.
Recoil: Due to the weight and size of the blaster, the rate of fire makes the rifle unwieldy when firing continuously. Instead, burst-fire-like shots should be fired to help control the blaster.
Low-Power: The high amount of shots allow for a lot of damage to be done in one power cell, however this does mean that the blaster bolts aren’t as high-powered as some other weapon systems and are mainly meant to maim and injure, not to kill, although enough shots will finish the job quite easily.
Range: This blaster isn’t designed for distance fighting and instead is designed for urban combat, mainly sweeping buildings as it can easily fit in and around corridors and rooms with ease.
The VA-17s Sub-Blaster is a design by Ilsa Visel, purposely made for close-quarter warfare. The weapon system has a small and light build which provides excellent mobility for moving throughout streets and buildings however the weight and size are major factors in other aspects of the system, such as the recoil which is quite high when not being used semi-auto or in burst, which at a stretch is still difficult to control. At extremely close quarters however the recoil means little when controlled as a healthy spread of blaster bolts can be fired effectively. The attached muffler cannot be removed without rendering the gun ineffective as it is an essential component. The positive of this however means that the blaster bolts make reduced noise and slightly reduces light emission but not completely as this would require significant research which isn't cost effective. The blaster itself mainly fires low-powered bolts which is a result of the high ammunition count, there is an information panel near the barrel extension that tells you how many shots are remaining, the actual bolts are set that way so that they're more likely to injure and disable targets so that the target can be taken prisoner for whatever the reason may be.
Mainly the weapon is meant for police and security forces due to its mobility, ease of use and lack of range. It has an effective range of 160m and a maximum range of 1,200m at which stage the weapon becomes extremely inaccurate and difficult to use, however this is not to say that militaries and civilians will struggle to use it as it is a good weapon for bounty hunters and soldiers alike, depending on the situation.
