- Magazines: The magazines of the VA-24p are quite thin and can be carried in large numbers which is the upside this weapon system being a slugthrower.
- Ammunition Rounds: The shell of the projectile is small compared to rifle rounds but can pack a fair punch in closer-ranged situations.
Strengths:
Lightweight: The weight of the weapon means that it is easily manoeuvrable and is perfect for quick response situations. The lack of visuals and the shorter barrel on the gun also make it less heavy.
Slugthrower: This weapon system was opted to utilise slugthrower internals as the rounds can combat force users and soldiers alike as opposed to having a system with two firing mechanisms.
Recoil: The light weight of the system means that the recoil is relatively high but still controllable, as should be expected of a slugthrower.
Short-Barrel: The short barrel is also a compliment to the light weight of the weapon, however, although it can handle itself at war, this means that it is better suited to close-quarter environments.
The VA-24p Pistol is a design by Ilsa Visel, purposely made for close-quarter warfare. The weapon system is average sized for its class of weapon but light in comparison, this is due to the lack of visual extras on the weapon as it was designed to be functional and reliable and not for show. The ammunition rounds and magazine are also small compared to similar weapons. Taking all this into consideration it means that the weapon is particularly useful in close-ranged combat as it is lightweight, the reduced round size however renders the gun ineffective at long range for the cost of weight and large magazine capacity. The light weight of the gun however means that there is a decent blowback in regards to recoil which can be controlled but restricts the weapon to not being fired in rapid succession.
The pistol is designed as a secondary that is effective against not only criminals and soldiers but can be used against force-users should their primary weapon fire blaster bolts alone as they can, typically, repel blaster bolts with ease.
This weapon system has an effective range of 50m and a maximum range of 100m, showing that the weapon is designed for close quarter combat. The size of the round this weapon uses is the equivalent of 9mm rounds.
