Dromund Kaas/Kaas City
Afternoon/Rain

V9bDVY0.jpg

After a long while of not being able to see each other, Shai decided she had enough. She wanted to go see him and what better way than to surprise him? It was with that mindset that she got to work on covering all her bases and flew off into Sith space.

Her freighter dropped out of hyperspace, her viewport filling with the site of Dromund Kaas in all of its dreary majesty. After breaching atmosphere she requested for landing and maneuverer into the correct space. She was in a very fortunate position with her ship and name. She still had her mom's "shipping company" listed under her name and her ship was flagged as being a delivery for the tiny transport company. So as far as the entirety of the Sith Empire was concerned, she was simply a delivery girl looking for work and maybe some relaxation. The thought brought a smirk to her face as she hovered over the landing pad. But she knew she was still going to have to be careful. No exploring or mingling, something alien to the social animal.

The ship touched down and she sorted out the paperwork with the dock master. After paying for refuelling, she grabbed her raincoat and wandered around a bit in search of a place to wait for him. She pulled the hood of her jacket a little further to shield her from the constant rain as she looked around. She had no idea how anyone could live in a place like this. Thankfully her jacket did its job well, otherwise she was going to stink herself out of her room again with her fur's odour.

After finding a cantina, she grabbed a seat and pulled out her datapad. ::Yo babe, wazzup. I'm on Dromund Kaas if you wanna hang out.:: she sent him with a smirk. It was a big risk to do this but she knew she covered herself pretty well. Plus she wanted to see the look on his face when he arrived.

The invasion of Korriban had taken it's toll on Gnox. Not physically, of course. His body could not stay injured. Even the wound from the Jedi's light had healed, though it certainly took it's time. But it gave him reason to doubt. He was a Sith in name, rescued from the planet that had become his tomb by a greater darkness than he knew. An embodiment of the power that gave him his immortality. An embodiment that he thought was god. But the more souls he devoured and learned from, the more he learned such things were false.

And now, with Shai- Gnox paused his thoughts as the datapad beside him went off. He frowned, glancing to it and tapping the screen to display the message. He nearly laughed when he realized who had sent the message. Worry, though, kept him from actually laughing. He snatched it up in both hands, quickly trying to send a message in kind. Try being the key word. "Infernal machine.." He grumbled out as every time he tapped the screen something ended up misspelled or just wrong. Eventually he just opted for a single word.

"::Whhhere::"

He got up from where he was sitting, heading over to the closet to find something or another to put on while he waited for a response. He was going to try and find her as soon as he could.

Shai blinked in surprise at the oddly spelled word before she snickered at the message he sent, sipping on a beer she ordered for herself. ::I'll send you the location.:: she sent back to him quickly, along with a link to her current location. She stared at the message as a hunch came to her. She knew he was absolutely useless with any form of technology more complex than a stick. Perhaps this was the reason for the horrible spelling. ::Just tap on the map thing and follow the directions. Or look for the name.:: she sent as well. Just in case he didn't know how to open a link. She needed to give him a crash course on technology at some point. Preferably in the immediate future. It would be rather amusing if she got him hooked to games.

Sitting back, she took another sip and shook her head. It was like trying to explain the workings of a gaming console to her dad all over again... but she didn't mind. It made her feel like she was helping someone in need.

It would be at least an hour before Gnox finally showed up at the bar Shai Maji Shai Maji had given him the directions to. Why it took so long as pretty obvious as he held the remnants of his datapad in a hand. At some point he seemed to have shattered it, and only got it working enough to ask around for the location. He wasn't in his war form at least, instead in the nearly original form he had. The one that he'd shown her before. He was in some pretty basic clothing, too. Seemed he at least bought his own for once, given they actually fit him.

But there was no sense of style or color. Simple pants. Simple shirt.

He looked plenty peeved as he walked through the door, though that all seemed to fade immediately as his eyes fell on Shai. He went right over to her, taking the seat beside with a small grin. "Hey you. Sorry it took so long."

Shai was just about to sip on her third pint of beer when Gnox came marching through the door, looking quite ticked off for a moment. She was rather surprised, but she quickly realized what the reason was. The broken datapad in his hand was mire than enough of an indication. At least he seemed to brighten right up when he saw her.

A bright grin appeared as he came over and slid in beside her, earning a warm grin from her. "Stranger danger, huh." she quipped before planting a kiss on his cheek. "Figured I'd come drop in and see you at your home. Nobody knows you in this form, right? So we got nothing to worry about." she commented as she took a sip and offered the tall glass to him. "How've you been? Aside from losing your shit over the datapad." she asked him with an amused smirk as she took the broken piece of tech from him and looked. Him over. "You didn't need to destroy the thing, you know." she snickered as she set it down on the table. "But it's cool. I can show you how it works now. 'Cause if you ask me, blowing all your savings buying new datapads every few hours is not a good idea." she teased him as she gave him a gentle bump with her shoulder.

She sat back and leaned against him as she looked up at him, clearly happy to be in his company once more.

"It's true no one knows me in this form, but I don't really have a home for you to see." His gaze fell to the bartender and a slight nod signified he did indeed want a drink. The bright grin lingered for a while, mostly because of the kiss Shai Maji Shai Maji planted on his cheek. After everything that had been going through his head, it was nice to see her. Be with her. The smile faded as she asked how he was. There was a lot to unpack on that, but he didn't want to just toss it all on her.

Especially since this was the first time in a while they'd actually seen each other. The bump of his shoulder pulled him from his head and his gaze flicked to the woman as she leaned on his arm. Yeah. It really was good to see her again. "I don't pay for it. The datapad. Was I supposed to? I just go up to one of the legionnaires and ask for theirs. And they give it away pretty freely." Gnox paused, thinking about it for a moment. "Actually, I think I know why that's a thing. All the more reason for me to leave."

Shai gave him another kiss on the cheek at his comment about not having a home. "Don't matter. At least I can see you again for a bit." she muttered. An eyebrow raised when he called over the bartender for a drink as well before she downed her pint. "Seeing as you're getting a drink, I'll get a refill as well." she quipped as she set her glass aside.

He went on to comment on how he got all his datapads, earning a snicker from Shai as she lightly slapped his arm. "You can't do that! That's likely their only way of communicating with family and stuff. But hey, I'd likely do the same if a cranky Sith Lord came up to me and asked for my datapad. Don't worry though, once I'm done with you, you won't need to get a new one anytime soon." she lightly scolded him, but it was clear she wasn't angry at him. The mention of leaving perked an eyebrow as she scooted a bit away and rested a leg on his lap.

"Funny you should mention leaving. I was plannin' on taking you and falling off the map for a week or two. Just the two of us, a little bungalow on Rishi's beaches, no worries or bothers to ruin the fun for us." she spoke with a sultry voice, the tip of her boot lightly caressing his stomach as her fingers snaked between his to hold his hand.

His smile brightened, both from her kiss and her words. Just knowing that seeing him again meant something to her filled him with quite a bit of joy. A chuckle escaped him as he watched her down her drink. "Don't get too drunk. I still don't know my way around, so finding your ship will be a challenge if you don't know where you're going." There was no doubt in Gnox's mind that Shai Maji Shai Maji could handle her drink, but he still wanted to make the quip. Subtle reminder that he sucked at directions.

"That did explain a couple of them asking me not to eat them. I never thought much of it." He scratched his chin a little, looking pretty thoughtful on the matter. Mostly to hide his embarrassment. He'd truly become an icon of terror in the Sith. Before meeting Shai, that was just the sort of thing he'd want. Now?

He gripped her hand somewhat tightly. The idea was a good one. Leaving the galaxy and it's problems just to spend time together. A beach was an interesting choice, but he couldn't hide that even that made him feel somewhat off. "Why not make it more permanent. I don't need to come back to this place."

She looked up at him with a smirk as he commented on her drinking. "Oh please. I can handle a couple beers. I'm more worried about you. Your tolerance is likely where mine was when I was sixteen." she teased as she gave him a light nudge. Her mood stayed high for quite a while. Seeing him again, simply chilling and teasing each other... it was something she missed. It felt good to be with him again. But his last comment toom a while to register.

She snickered as her foot slowly crawled up his chest towards his muzzle, but she stopped as the gravity of his words hit her. Her smile faded and her foot dropped as she glanced around them. "Wait... are you...?" she started but quickly cut herself off as she sat upright. "Not here. Hold that thought." she said as she nudged him to get up. She took hold of his hand and led him out of the cantina towards her ship. The whole time she didn't say a word. It wasn't until they were on board and flying out of the atmosphere that she decided to break the silence.

"What do you mean by more permanent? What do you mean with all that? Are you saying you wanna leave the Sith?" she asked anxiously as she gripped his hand, staring up into his eyes. In truth, she had no objections over a choice like that. She could finally rest easily knowing her boyfriend was no longer the enemy. But she knew what the Sith meant for him. A choice like this wasn't exactly easy for him to make.

His smile faded as Shai Maji Shai Maji 's own did. Gnox had every intention of explaining, uncaring of where they were. The danger wasn't there in his mind. He couldn't be killed, after all. The urgency in her voice had him shut right up before a single word escaped him. He nodded, getting up from his seat to follow her out of the bar. And to her ship. The fact they needed to get in space made him realize just how worried she was over what he said.

How important it was.

"I awoke in a galaxy I didn't know. Ships, technology. Sith and Jedi. I knew nothing. But what I was brought me to the Sith. The Jedi fear me. The Sith welcomed me. But.. There's no honor in the Sith." He laid it all out, squeezing her hand in turn.

"I've no place in this galaxy. It would be best for me to leave the Sith before I fall to their level. To find where I belong."

Still holding his hand, Shai listened intently to what Gnox said. She said nothing and didn't move a muscle as he told his story, not wanting to interrupt him.

When he finally finished, she let out a sigh and ran a hand through her mane. "I get that. Not feeling like you belong." she admitted softly. She was fighting hard not to burst with cheers for having him leave the sith. "At the end of the day, though, you know I'm here for you, right? You can stay with me, no problem." she reassured him as she leaned in to plant a kiss on his lips. "I think this is good, though. Might give us a lot more freedom to be together. No worries about supposed treason or crap like that." she muttered with a soft smile as she planted herself on his lap.

After a few moments of simply enjoying his company, she turned to look at him and playfully wrapped her hand around his muzzle, making sure he looked directly at her. "Now, how about I cheer you up with some hot chocolate, snacks, and a massage?" she spoke with a determined voice, lightly wiggling his muzzle about.

With a giggle she got up and pulled him along towards the kitchen. "We can also watch a movie if you want. I found this comedy the other day that I think you'll like." she suggested as she smiled at him. Without wasting any time she got to work on making hot chocolate for the two of them along with some sandwiches. "By the way, um... if you need blood or something, we can instead go chill on Felucia or somewhere. Bunch of wacky animals on there, might be fun." she suggested awkwardly, though she tried her hardest to sound optimistic about it.

Of course she'd be there for him. A soft smile took over the hardened face as he leaned into the kiss. Perhaps she did know just how much it meant to have her there with him, but he'd have to find the right way to say it at some point. "Right, no supposed treason, just real treason." Gnox actually laughed at this. It was a funny thought. He leaned back comfortably, an arm wrapping around her as she sat down to help keep her steady. This he was content with. Being close to her again.

He blinked as she took his muzzle. A brow raised slowly. Hot chocolate? Well, he wouldn't turn that down. Another chuckle escaped him as he stood up with her to get into the kitchen. "I don't mind a comedy. It'd be nice to actually laugh again." Then, there it was. His diet. What he needed to eat. He nodded a little, almost looking ashamed. He'd never be able to escape that hunger. Even now he could feel it gnawing at his mind. He could smell her blood. Live. Fresh. Pulsing through her veins. Gnox had gotten used to blocking those thoughts out, but the subject made it hard to ignore.

"I think animals should be fine. Stored blood doesn't taste very good, but it'll be enough to get me by as we travel."

She listened to his comment as they made their way to the kitchen, glancing back to him. "Alright then. Hot chocolate, movie, massage. And I don't wanna hear any protest from you, got it?" she jokingly ordered him with a sultry voice.

She started with their lunch and beverages, though she quickly stopped as he explained his situation. Without hesitation she took hold of him and planted a kiss on his cheek. "Got it. Pit stop first." she quipped before continuing with their lunch. As she worked she tried to figure out where to stop, though it was hard to focus on that when the thought of spending a week or two with him was so prominent. She just had to make sure they got enough for him. She was glad that he still pressed on with the plan of using an alternative to sentient people.

The smell of the sausages burning on the pan pulled her out of her trance. Quickly she flipped them over with a snicker as she glanced at him. "Sorry, zoned out a little. I hope you don't mind a bit of singe." she muttered. When the kettle finished boiling, she served him his mug of hot chocolate and got back to work.

But something felt off. It was too peaceful. Too relaxed. A feeling of anxiety started to build up as she worked on their food. It boiled over when she accidentally bumped the pan and splashed a splotch of oil on her left hand. She jumped back with a yelp of pain as she flicked her hand a few times. "Karking hell!" she shouted as she glared at the pan.

Quite the grin formed this time as he snatched her into a hug from behind, lifting her easily into his arms. "There's nothing about that I'd protest." He whispered into her ear. Well. More growled it. Then a soft kiss on her cheek. Gnox would hold her for a moment longer, then let her go cook.

He was silent, leaning against one of the counters. In his own head, much like Shai Maji Shai Maji was. He took up the mug as it was offered without reservation, waiting to sip until it cooled.

He flinched as she yelped. He almost tossed the cup aside just to go check on her, but instead hasitly set down the steaming liquid. He spilled some on his own hand, but all he cared about was hers. He took her hand to start blowing on the burn. Which really just showed his lack of understanding for modern medicine.

When you heal from any wound, there's no point to.

He stayed there, focused on the wound as he tried to figure out how to help more than he was. Eventually his gaze rose. He could feel something was off with her. Anxiety.

"What's wrong?"

It came as no surprise when Gnox was suddenly by her side to help. However the combination of his presence and his pathetic attempt to help was enough to tick her off. "Kark off! The hell are you doing?!" she snapped at him with a growl as she yanked her hand away. With a hiss she clutched her hand against her chest, sealing her eyes shut to fight off the pain.

When he spoke up she looked at him with annoyance. "The kark do you think?! I got karking oil on my hand! The one that actually still feels something! Of course it isn't the one that got karking blown off!" she shouted, more at herself than at him. Though as she started to cool off she realized that there might be more to that question than she thought. Her reaction didn't exactly make her feel better either.

"It all feels off, okay? You suddenly leaving the Sith, this little trip, it's all too perfect and nothing ever goes so smoothly! It never does. Not for me." she vented as her anger slowly started to fade. "And now my karking good hand is killing me and..." she fell quiet as she looked away for a moment, taking in a deep breath then letting it out shakily.

She looked at him with guilt in her eyes as she sat on the table. "I'm sorry. You didn't do anything wrong, I shouldn't have went off on you like that." she apologized softly as she looked back at her hand. "Just sit tight, I'm gonna bandage this up. Food's gonna have to wait." she muttered as she stood up and turned off the stove before going to the bathroom to find the medpack.

After a few minutes of nursing herself she returned to him with a bandaged hand. Without a word she leaned against him, nuzzling against his chest. "You still wanna watch that movie?" she asked softly as she looked up at him.
