- The Good Stuff: Vaela's lightsaber will be shorted out for a short period of time after coming into contact with materials that have certain properties, like Cortosis. In addition to that, Vaela's blade is not able to cut through lightsaber-resistant materials.
Vaela Layne's lightsaber was constructed nearly an entire century ago, made by herself when she was but fourteen years of age. Collecting a Kyber Crystal from the family crop in the ice caves underneath Frosthall, Vaela created her lightsaber with the guidance of the force, using beryillius plating and a cerakote shroud -- common elements used by members of House Layne in the construction of their lightsabers. Vaela was sister to the Lord of Frosthall at the time, Karrin Layne, who himself was not sensitive with the force. As such, Vaela served as House Layne's champion and protector, fighting against opponents and the elements with her lightsaber. Upon her death, Vaela's lightsaber was not buried with her but instead entombed in the family mausoleum among the blades of her ancestors, a tradition of House Layne. For now, Vaela's lightsaber still resides in the mausoleum, but as with any blade of House Layne, that does not mean its future is over quite yet.
