Biography:
Valad Yar was born on the world of Bakura, the youngest son of his family. He had a single elder brother, a prodigy in almost everything that he did, a trait that infuriated Valad, as he was always compared to his elder brother. As they grew older, his brother continued to outshine him in everything that he did, and as they neared their great test day, Valad began to grow nervous. It was a custom on Bakura for families to have two children, one of which would go on in life to pursue whatever they wished, while the other was condemned to a live of servitude and menial work, forever trapped in service of the greater good of the Bakuran people. Whichever child received a higher grand on a state regulated test would be allowed to go on in their life, while the failure was sent off to become little better than a slave. Everyone in their family thought this would be the fate of Valad. He had different plans.
On the day of their examination, Valad's brother, as the eldest child of the family went in first. Nobody was aware however that Valad placed a small recorder on his brothers collar, and observed every question on the test. While he waited outside the room, waiting for his turn, Valad studied every single answer on the test, finding the answers as he waited and committing them to memory. When his brother finally emerged, he was ready. Valad scored a near perfect score on the test, far outshining his brother. The next day, government workers came and took Valad's elder brother away. Everyone else in his family was devastated, though Valad could only feel pure joy. The next day he was taken to one of Barkua's premiere universities.
At that time in Bakuran history, archaeologists were some of the most well known and well payed workers. Their discoveries across the galaxy were constantly being put into circulation on Bakura, and their names put into the history books. Such a thing greatly appealed to Valad, as he had no interest in fading into the obscurity of history. He graduated from university as an archaeologists assistant, and was assigned to the staff of a well known researcher. The next five years of his life would be spent travelling across the galaxy and making only token discoveries. For every find that the team made, the lions share of glory and reward was heaped on the head archaeologist, even when others on the team did most of the work. The other two assistants were ok with such imbalance, but it made Valad furious. The fact that his name, his accomplishments, his fame were being obscured by a fat, old researcher. This was how it always was, the team leader earned the fame, and when his assistants graduated they would come to lead their own teams and earn the fame they had been looking for. Valad had no interest in waiting that long.
Finally, the research team came to Yavin Four, where they began to study the ancient temples and ruins of the world. Almost the moment that Valad set foot on the world, a voice began to call out to Valad, always present in the back of his mind. Over the course of the expedition, Valad became more aggressive towards the other members of the team, and openly insubordinate to the head archaeologist. It eventually became so bad that the team leader informed Valad that when he turned in his research notes on everything they found on the moon, he would be also turn in a complaint report on Valad, and recommend his immediate dismissal from his team, and a probationary period of five years afterwards where he would undergo training and therapy to help deal with his increasingly out of control behavior. This would go on to be the final straw for Valad, and the doom of the rest of the research team.
As they entered the final temple in their search, Valad attacked the team and killed on of the other assistants with his bare hands. The other two members of the team fled into the temple, and Valad pursued them. The last assistant Valad cornered in an ancient library, the woman blood painting the ancient tablets and scripts of the place. The head archaeologist Valad trapped in an ancient tomb. On the steps of ancient sarcophagus Valad butchered the man. The act of pure violence awoke the ancient power within the chamber. Before Valad's eyes, the ancient spirit of Exar Kun appeared.
Exar Kun commended Valad on all that he had done, including some of his darkest moments that he had kept hidden in his youth on Bakura. Questioning the spirit, Valad learned that Exar Kun had been observing him since the moment he was born, guiding his actions so that one day, he would come to this very room. Exar Kun told Valad that he would become his successor, and carry on the ancient teachings of the Brotherhood of the Sith, and that of Exar Kun himself. Valad questioned him, stating that he had no connection to the force, and hadn't since he had been born. Exar Kun stated that this had been done by Exar Kun himself, to ensure that no other Force organization in the galaxy took Valad before he had come to Yavin Four. Using a great portion of the strength he had left, Exar Kun removed this block from Valad, and poured the accumulated knowledge across Yavin Four, and his own power into Valad. At once Valad lost consciousness as his mind was overwhelmed, and went into a Force induced coma.He would remain in this state for the next month, and was kept alive only by the spirit of Exar Kun, who used his limited and dwindling connection to the Force to sustain Valad's body.
Finally, Valad awoke, starving and near death, but with an understanding and control over the knowledge and power that had been forced upon him. He returned to the research teams camp, where he retrieved all the supplies they had, and devoured all he could. Refreshed, Valad returned to Exar Kun, and kneeling before the Dark Lord of the Sith, listened to his teachings, The next few days would see Exar Kun instruct Valad in the ways of the Sith, and help him better understand the knowledge that even now roared to life in his mind. In the end, as Exar Kun began to fade away, he instructed Valad to open his tomb, and taken the ancient lightsaber crystals held within. He would use them to construct his own lightsaber in the image of Exar Kun's own. Finally, Exar Kun's spirit faded away, returning to its rest to recover. Valad took the research teams ship and departed Yavin Four, setting out into the galaxy to carry out the mission that had been set before him.

Strengths:- Sith Alchemy: Through the teachings of Exar Kun, and his own research across the galaxy, Valad Yar has come to be well trained in the ancient practices of Sith Alchemy, developing and improving upon Exar Kun's own work.
- Blade Master: Exar Kun's combat training has begun only recently, though it is extensive. In his travels across the galaxy, he has practiced under numerous different teachers, learning numerous combat styles, and adapting them to the knowledge already in his mind.
- Charismatic: Valad Yar has a way with words, able to corrupt and influence others to his way of thinking with minimal amounts of work. It is a natural born gift, only further enhanced by the knowledge and experience of Exar Kun, himself an incredibly influential individual.
- Force Abilities: Despite his knowledge, Valad Yar is still generally inexperienced in the wider ways of the Force, and has only minor mastery over a few techniques. Even with the knowledge, he has not had a lifetime of practice and preparation to prepare his mind and body for such things.
- Outdated: Most of Valad Yar's knowledge comes from a time long forgotten, and has trouble sometimes expressing himself and his goals in modern times, the knowledge of Exar Kun overpowering his own at times and conflicting with his past memories.
- Arrogant: Valad Yar is arrogant, well beyond his own talents and abilities. He considers everyone one to be his lesser, and that all should bend to his will. Not uncommon among the Sith, though Valad Yar takes it to the extreme at times.
