- Force-imbued to offer extra protection (blaster bolts, glancing blows from saber), and to boost the ability of force protection skills.
- Force-imbued fabrics: these ordinary textiles have been imbued to give the wearer a slight boost to the ability to draw upon to the force for protection (force barrier, ect). The imbuement process also grants the fabrics protection from blaster bolts and glancing blows from a saber.
- Lightsided: attuned to the lightside, these robes deepen the wearer’s connection to the force.
- Mobility: the user is still able to move with ease.
- Vulnerable to damage: while the armor offers protection against blasters, it can still be damaged by multiple hits to the same spot. Likewise, anything more than a glancing blow from a saber would break through. Instead, it relies upon the wearer’s ability to utilize force protection skills.
- Not heavy armor: as these robes are made of various fabrics, they do not offer protection against blades, slugs, or kinetic damage.
Valae Kitra finally set about designing her personal robes, and approached Masamune workshop to assist. She had never had fancied herself a warrior, and knew that she did not want a suit of armor. With simplicity in mind, she requested robes that would be comfortable to wear, effortless to move in, and offer some form of protection.
These robes were made in the minimal and monastic style so emblematic of the Jedi, quite unassuming in appearance. Fine linens were dyed in earthy shades, and cut to fit the Jedi healer. The ensemble includes a pair of loose fitting trousers, a light undertunic, a heavier overtunic, leather boots, and a heavy cloak to finish off the look. There is also a handy utility belt to help cinch in the layers, and carry important items.
As the outfit was handmade from armorweave and linen, the fabrics were imbued with the lightside of the force. This added much needed protection from blaster bolts, and glancing blows from a saber. Additionally, the imbuement aids the wearer when utilizing force protection skills, giving a small boost to her abilities. Slipping into these force-imbued clothing is like being enveloped in the light, and deepens the wearer’s connection to the force, enhancing the ability to focus.
However, the force imbued fabrics can only do so much. Despite the fine construction of the armorweave and heavy linen, the robes are still very vulnerable to blades, slugs, and kinetic damage. While the fabrics do offer reasonable protection against blasters, sabers are another story -- anything more than a glancing blow would surely break through. Instead, the robe's protection truly lies with the wearer’s ability to draw upon the force to defend herself. However, loss of concentration or focus can result in heavy damage.
