- Farfalla's Saber: This lightsaber belonged to a Jedi of some renown who was known for his clean, elegant fighting style and charisma.
- Elaborate Design: Though it doesn't affect combat in any way, the hilt features exquisitely detailed engravings that qualify it as a work of art as well as a weapon. Farfalla was known for his attention to appearances, earning him a reputation as a bit of a fop, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that he bothered to beautify his lightsaber.
- Velmorite Crystal: Creates a fine, thin gold blade for graceful, fluid wielding.
- Cortosis will short out the blade.
- Beskar, phrik, and songsteel are all lightsaber resistant materials commonly found in armor and weaponry.
- Water: This lightsaber cannot be activated underwater. If exposed to water in a significant amount, it may suffer damage and require repairs.
"Turning, he fumbled around in his luggage, eventually finding what he was looking for: a single-bladed lightsaber of an unusual and ancient-looking design. 'I would appreciate it if you didn’t tell a soul that I have this,' he said, glancing back at Starlin and holding up the saber." - Nimdok, "A Meeting On Jerrilek"
Circumstances led to Farfalla's lightsaber briefly falling into the hands of Darovit, a failed Padawan and cousin of Darth Zannah, Bane's apprentice. Darovit had previously come forward with information about Bane, prompting Farfalla and his fellow Jedi to seek the wounded Sith Lord out in the first place. Using the Force, Zannah drove Darovit insane. When a team of Jedi led by Master Tho'natu were sent to Ambria to investigate, the deranged Darovit attacked them while wielding Farfalla's lightsaber. They slew the boy, whom they mistakenly believed to be Bane, and declared the Sith extinct.
The lightsabers of the five Jedi slain by Bane were all brought back to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where they were set into a large white stone block in the gardens around the base of the Tower of First Knowledge. Under each hilt was a depiction of its wielder, along with their name.
Following the Great Jedi Purge and the destruction of the Jedi Temple, the lightsaber hilts were thought to be lost - and indeed, no trace of the other four hilts embedded in the stone has yet been found. Farfalla's lightsaber, on the other hand, was discovered on Koaan, of all places. The Galactic Research Academy, an ancient institution on the planet, had somehow wound up with the lightsaber at some point after the destruction of the Jedi Temple, and they kept it in one of their numerous filing cabinets listed under "Old Republic Entries - 1100-1000 BBY". Also in the file was the label taken from the stone slab, indicating that it was deliberately saved and an attempt was made to ensure it did not become yet another anonymous ancient lightsaber.
