PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Valerian is taller than a good many of his peers, standing at 6 '3 and with a warrior's powerful build. Years of tough training and hard living have given him a body lined with hard muscle and hands lined with hard skin and slivers of pale scar tissue. He has a smooth face, clean shaven and bereft of any major scarring, with black hair cut close to his head and his fathers dark brown eyes. Valerian smiles easily and laughs often, much like his mother, and has gained faint lines around his mouth and eyes from expressing his joy so often. His eyebrows are dark and thick, and his lips are full and expressive, and nearly always slightly curved upward in a ghost of a smile When not in armor he wears dark clothes of night and smoke, with splashes of viridian.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Valerian is an easygoing young man who smiles often and makes friends easily. He's a man who chooses to live in the moment and enjoys all that life has to offer while he still can. The gift of youth allows Valerian to be confident and self-assured, and to him there's nothing that he cannot overcome without enough effort. He loves being a Mandalorian and all the things that come with it, and fully embraces the culture of his family, with all the good and bad. As a Mandalorian by blood and birth, Valerian loves a fight, he lives for combat and sees it as the truest test anyone could hope to undergo; he trains often and encourages every member of his clan to stay prepared for war, all the way from the farmers and miners to their holy men and women. To Valerian, every Mando'ade is a warrior first and foremost. Despite Valerian's easy going nature, he knows that as the leader of a clan his duty is first to those who follow him, to him there is nothing more important than the survival and prosperity of Clan Calore, no matter the cost.


STRENGTHS

Mandalorian Combat Training- A childhood raised amongst hardy Mando'a warriors on the plains and ruined foundries of Hypori had done well for the young Valerian. He grew up with the understanding that no matter what he did in life, whether he chose to count credits or play the role of diplomat, he would be a warrior first. He was taught to be proficient in all manner of blasters and to be competent with a blade and his fists, eventually the young man would grow to be a talented warrior in his own right, far from the best, but skilled enough that he'd earned the respect of his clan.

Talented Leader - Valerian has an innate talent for making friends and winning allies, and is known to inspire loyalty in bravery in those around him. He'll never ask someone to do something that he wouldn't do himself, and always leads his fellow Mando'a from the front. He's also a clever and intelligent young man, who enjoys playing mind games with those he finds in opposition to him. This makes for a leader who is both effective and loved by his subordinates.

WEAKNESSES

Emotional Attachments - Valerian's strong sense of loyalty and protectiveness towards those close to him can be dangerous in the wrong situation. He cares deeply toward those who've earned his friendship/affections, and will risk everything to see them safe.

Self-Doubting - The weight of leadership and the fear of failure can be a significant burden for Valerian. The pressure to uphold Clan Calore's reputation and his own legacy may lead to stress and self-doubt, potentially affecting decision-making during critical moments, compounded with the fact that he became leader of his clan so young can fill him with a feeling of inadequacy.


HISTORY

On the plains of Hypori within the compound that Clan Calore calls home, Valerian Calore was born to Elias and his wife Tessa. The young boy was immediately known to have been blessed with strong lungs, as his wails could be heard throughout the compound for all to hear for hours. Elias Calore, the boy's father and head of the Clan, briefly considered naming him "Screamer" as a joke, but the look he'd gotten from his wife quickly dissuaded him from the notion.

As a young child Valerian was curious and loved to explore, and made a habit of making the ventilation systems of the Iron Concord his second home. Valerian's parents worked hard to keep their child out of trouble and his mind on his studies with limited success Only the elder members of the clan managed to keep Valerian occupied long enough for his parents to take a breath, they told the young boy stories and taught him their own way of living as Mandalorians mostly letting him play with knives and shoot at empty cans). At around the age of six, Valerian began to display force sensitivity in the form of simple telekinesis and some mild visions. Without any other Force-Sensitives within the clan to teach Valerian, he was left to his own devices when it came to exploring the extent of his abilities, figuring out how to tap into the Force and unlock the well of power within him.

In the year of the young child's ninth year his father returned to the compoud with a child on his hip, around the same age, wearing clothes that clearly weren't his. The boy's name was Tyber and was a foundling, and Valerian's new brother. The pair took to one another quickly, easily forming a bond that would leave the boys bonded at the hip for the rest of their lives. For a while the pair were prone to mischief, and often tested the patience of their parents. Though shortly after the boys would forgo their pranking nature after a mishap with a flash grenade that left their father blind for three days. With a (slightly) younger brother to care for Valerian began to take his training more seriously as to set an example, and worked hard to excel where he could, earning his fathers praise.

When Valerian was thirteen he completed his verd'goten, earning a drink and toast from his father, and a fair amount of praise that would flood the young teenager's head. As he grew from a young teen to a man Valerian matured greatly, and began taking on jobs of his own, with his own small crew of warriors. For around two years Valerian led his men as mercenaries and bounty hunters, putting his years of training to practical use, and gaining many a chance to sharpen his skills. Eventually at the age of twenty, Valerian returned to the clan, more than welcome.

Barely a few month after his return, Valerian was given the news that his father was dying, and had very little time left in the world. Valerian grew much closer to his father following the news, and took whatever the man had to say to heart, hanging onto his every word as he mentally prepared himself for what was to come. It wouldn't take long for Elias to pass, and leave Valerian as the leader of the clan, passing along the leadership of the Calore Fleet and all other the assets held by the family. Perhaps the most notable thing that had been left to Valerian by his father, was an old lightsaber, found decades ago by Elias's grandfather in the aftermath of a battle long since passed and kept as a trophy by the Clan. Now the blade belongs to Valerian, who is expected by his predecessor to but the old and worn trophy to use. While having grown somewhat comfortable with his Force-Sensitivity, Valerian has had no formal training, and must forge ahead to make the most of the gifts he's been given while leading his clan as best he can.
