Biography:
Valerian Draak was a formidable Imperial Inquisitor during the height of the Galactic Empire. Born on the planet of Coruscant, he displayed exceptional Force sensitivity from a young age. Recognizing his potential, he was taken as a child to the Imperial Academy, originally being trained as an Imperial cadet for the Stormtrooper Corps, he was found by Inquisitor Iskat Akaris as part of Project Harvester. He was then taken into the ranks of the Inquisitorius his official ranking under that of the Imperial Security Bureau. It was here where for a short time he was taken under the wing of Iskat. This would not last as he would witness her rogue actions, and hear of her execution at the hands of Darth Vader.
He would begin his training offworld in the newly constructed Fortress Inquisitorius on the world of Nur following the death of Iskat. He would train under Darth Vader, and like the rest of the Inquisitors would gain his own sense of loss. In a duel between the two after Vader toyed with him, he would use his lightsaber to strike at his eyes. The last thing Valerian’s eyes saw was the sight of his master’s red blade crashing into his face. It was here he earned his name the Ninth Brother. Constructing a lightsaber similar to his brothers and sisters he would continue to learn the dark side from Vader to be an effective hunter.
Valerian quickly rose through the ranks, showing a ruthless dedication to the Emperor's cause. He became known for his cold and calculating demeanor, as well as his unwavering loyalty to the Empire. Valerian's mastery over the dark side grew, and he acquired an extensive knowledge of Sith artifacts and ancient Force techniques. It was also rumored that Draak was one of the many secret Sith Apprentices that Vader trained in his efforts to take down Palpatine.
As an Inquisitor, Valerian was tasked with hunting down and eliminating Jedi survivors and other Force-sensitive individuals who opposed the Empire. His methods were brutal and efficient, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake. Valerian's reputation struck fear into the hearts of those who dared to defy the Empire. By the time of the Galactic Civil War Draak would reach the position of High Inquisitor.
However, during a mission in the Rimward Offensive to capture a group of Rebel sympathizers, Valerian was betrayed. Severely wounded and outnumbered, he made a desperate last stand, sacrificing himself to ensure the survival of his fellow imperials. Unbeknownst to anyone, a secret contingency plan had been set in motion by loyal Imperial agents.
Placed into a state of stasis within a hidden facility, Valerian's body lay dormant for centuries, untouched by the passage of time. Emerging into a galaxy vastly different from the one he knew.
Now, Valerian Draak, the Imperial Inquisitor of old, finds himself in an era long after the fall of the galactic Empire. With his skills and knowledge still intact, he must navigate a galaxy transformed by new powers and alliances, searching for a purpose and seeking to reclaim his place in a changed universe.
Appearance:
Valerian is often seen in his Imperial body glove that adds bits of armor into his robes. He is adorned with a zed-cloth cape to mark his status as an Inquisitor along with red cybernetic eyes engraved with markings of Sith Alchemy. He is often an imposing figure, and a cold man that is reflected in his style of clothing that adheres to an Empire that shows strength through fear.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Cold Inquisitor: Valerian often possesses a cold and calculating demeanor. Often able to stay on the hunt of his prey, and never stopping to see the mission through.
Adept Duelist: Given his training as an Inquisitor under Darth Vader, he was trained to duel Jedi, and other force users alike. He has proven his skill in lightsaber combat, and can take on multiple opponents if need be.
Stunted growth: Given that he was trained in different techniques from Vader, and his hunt for Sith knowledge. He has been slow at trying to achieve power having been kept under the thumb of two Sith Lords. Valerian has much catching up to do, and could potentially harm him in the face of a stronger opponent.
Numerical superiority: As proven in his last stand against a cell of rebels, Valerian is easily overwhelmed when he faces more opponents than a singular combatant at a time.
