Valkyri Years > Galactic Standard Years

Greetings, loyal subjects!

I - your beloved High King - have noticed a few minor inconsistencies in the age of some (most) Valkyri citizens. This goes out to all pure Valkyri out there, since I cannot speak for any half-bloods roaming the galaxy. Disgusting creatures...

In any case, the average lifetime of common Valkyri such as yourselves stretches from 100-150 GSY (Galactic Standard Years). This means that we as a species age slower than mere humans. Say, for example, that your character is 20 years old in Valkyri counting. This would mean that in GSY, he/she would actually be around 30-40, yet physically he would look like a 20-year-old human. Well, much more prouder and stronger, obviously!

Same goes the other way: should you refer to your age in GSY, a 20-year-old would not even count as a man or a woman. You would be a mere adolescent - a teenager, I believe the common term would be. So what I propose is that you keep this in mind and perhaps even bother to age up your characters, or at the very least make sure to point out you are 20 years old physically. Otherwise our people would not even regard you as worthy of carrying an axe.

That is all, my fellow Valkyri!

(OOC: In case you haven't noticed by now, Beorlund is a bit of an elitist snob.)

EDIT: The average age have been updated to 150-200 years, making them live almost exactly twice as long as humans, thereby making the distinction between actual age and physical appearance all the more important.
