These are the carriers of the Octarchy Covenant.
After the Battle of Eshan, Voph remained within CIS space, and sought to consolidate his forces under a single banner. No longer seeking to champion a wide-reaching force, Voph instead turned his focus to a single target: The marauders responsible for the devastation on Eshan. Voph surrendered control of his forces to the Confederacy, and took a temporary position as Fleet Marshal as he prepared his small navy to become a fearsome xeno-hunting task force.
The Vanguard Carrier was the first ship commissioned, designed to fulfill the role of the original carrier ships, but on a much larger scale. Taking advantage of the resources offered to him by the Confederacy, Voph installed a few upgrades, including an amplified com-link synchronized with the fleet's unofficial flagship and de-facto comms hub, the Arcane Scion. The ships also featured a Crystal Gravfield to detect stealth fighters, and allow the ships ample time to prepare defenses. Though they are not heavily armed themselves, the Vanguard ships are intended to deploy along side a host of supporting ships, instead focusing on absorbing damage and providing a safe haven for the hundreds of fighters at its disposal.
