Affiliation: Open Market (Except to FU's)
Modularity: Scopes, Sights
Production: Minor
Material:
 • Dallorian Alloy
 • Durasteel
 • Electrical Components
Classification: Plasma Launcher/Plasma Rifle
Size: Handheld
Length: 1m
Weight: 7kg
Ammunition Type: Powercell, 2x Gas Cannisters
Ammunition Capacity:
 • 50 Shots (Launcher)
 • 200 Shots (Rifle)

 • 100 Meters (Launcher)
 • Optimum Range: 250 Meters (Rifle)
 • Maximum Range: 300 Meters (Rifle)
Rate of Fire:
 • Semi-Auto
 • Full-Auto
Special Features:
 • +Plasma: Unlike a blaster bolt the plasma rounds shot by this weapon is similar to the original plasma form being likened to a super-heated liquid.
 • +Ionization: Like other plasma weapons the rounds fired have a slight ionization effect making it useful against droids and shielding.
 • - Splashback: As the magnetic field drops the plasma contained has a splashing effect but if fired to closely to the user some of the plasma may splash back.
 • - Recoil: In launcher mode the recoil is akin to that of a scatter-gun and can send one's aim off if not held correctly or compensated for.
 • - Reload: Reloading the VE-01 can be time consuming with the two gas cannisters and the powercell that all need to be changed simultaneously.

Description: The Variable Eraser one is the first step in what could possibly be a line of plasma weapons aimed at dealing with not only Force Using foes but those that often wear heavy armor. The creation was started from the ground up with almost nothing to draw on it went through three trial phases two of which failed. However, after some time Riot Industries found out the key things they were missing. At first the amount of shots one could get out of the weapon were too low, and the next time around the weapon was too unstable to release on the Open Market. Now striking the perfect balance even if it sports less shots than the common blaster weapon. As such the VE-01 serves in situations where it excels when compared to its blaster counterparts and others where it falls short. One of such is the weight that is above most common blaster weapons. While not too much of a difference it is notable and can be off-putting to some of the users.

Drawing on the power-cell and two gas canisters the gas is ionized into plasma that is different from the standard blaster or particle beam and is in a state between liquid and solid that is contained in a magnetic field. The magnetic field that contains said plasma can continue on up to a maximum distance of over 300 meters but anything afterwards it begins to disperse harmlessly and the plasma will lose its velocity and kinetic force. This range is shortened in the plasma launcher mode of the weapon with a maximum range of 100 meters. Another downside is that while it is able to burn through low grade armors mid and high grade will not be burnt through in a significant way.

With two separate modes of fire the VE-01 gives the customer two options in the weapons use. One of which is the plasma launcher mode in which an explosive orb of plasma is released that when it impacts a target has not only great kinetic force but releases the plasma to splash across the target coating it in the superheated plasma. Even if it can't melt high grade armors the heat and kinetic force is still transferred through. One must be wary of firing in the launcher mode at a target that is too close as the plasma will splash back. The full-auto mode is quite a bit weaker than the plasma launcher mode, but that does not mean it is useless. The plasma bolts still are dangerous due to the insane heat and kinetic force behind it though not comparable to a lightsaber in the ability to burn through armor. Add on the fact that the plasma has an ionization effect makes it useful against a variety of targets.

Yes, that's exactly how I meant it. Just like a plasma launcher.
Then I'm afraid I cannot approve this. Plasma weapons in canon are seen as similar to Ion cannons (which are ionized plasma). A blaster which fires a ball of plasma that is comparable to a lightsaber, with a splash (or without, even), is something that won't be able to be used in any kind of PvP scenario because it would burn through pretty much anything except Beskar, Cortosis, Phrik, and so on, and would be subjected to any number of reports - in essence, it would be extremely overpowered for the kind of use it would see on the board.

If you can add a note that this isn't comparable to a lightsaber, and isn't able to do the same level of damage (i.e; burn through a blast door or durasteel armor like a hot knife through butter), though, I'll be fine with this.

Oh it was never meant to do that, it was always to the lesser extent where it could burn through low grade but mid and high grade it sort of just sits on and transfers the heat through. Maybe over an eventual period of time scorch the armor the damage was always meant to be from the plasma coating them.

Just make a note of that in your description and this will be ready to go.
